Heitinga hints at Everton exit

3m and we can add it to the imaginary money Martinez thinks is left over from the summer budget..

Thank hell for that. One of the worst players last season and 100% no way good enough to be near Jags or Distin. We need a real backup defender, not someone who clearly doesn't give a damn.

Why hate him, how is he a mercenary ffs?! Hate it when we just slate our own players. It wasnt that long ago he was our player of the year

Bingo. Everyone's a mercenary these days, why would they not be? Short, high paying career, limited options, cash to made around the world, if you had the opportunity, you wouldn't turn it down would you? He's not an Evertonian.

It's his lack of giving a fook that i hate.
Take the Straqman as an example, he wasn't the greatest footballer, in fact he was borderline turbogash (© goat) but every single time he pulled on that blue shirt he ran his bollox off and gave 100%.

that is all i ask of any Everton player.

koff johnny

I dunno, I think he tries, maybe not as hard and as willing as others (Straq is a good example) but I don't hate him for it, it's just the reality of modern footy, we're all paying his wages buying tickets, shirts, watching sky, we've only got ourselves to blame haha.

This all day.

Thought he was going to be a superstar when he signed and one of the best defenders in the league, same thoughts as his countryman VDM.......if they used their talents with us we would have had 2 top players.

I don't like him because he just isn't very loyal. How many times did we see him say 'Oh, I'd like to play for Bayern soon', or 'I'm good enough to be playing CL football', and his attitude stunk in that regard.

I do remember getting dead excited about him signing, and him making his debut and him doing a 70-yard diagonal cross field ball to Bilyaletdinov and secretly thinking about corking one over our two dream signings, then pleasantly being reminded that he was a [Poor language removed] by the fella next to me telling me to stop being excited by 'this ****' because he 'Didn't even want to join us, he only agreed because we stuck up an extra £20k a week', which turned out to be very true.

I found that the Gwladys st took a liking to him purely because he had that Hardcore rep, that Duncan had, and the Gwladys st always needs one of them, like Gravesen before him!

He had that cracking season, but he was always a little suspect to a mistake, and fact is, you know he'd of been just as unsettling as Lescott saga, had someone like Bayern actually wanted him...

Nah, you can't start a fire without a match as far as i'm concerned and had these stories of him wanting to 'return home' or go to 'A CL Club' didn't keep emerging, I might of warmed to him more, but they did and that's that, close the door on the way our lad!

Lighter works well tbh

A defender who isn't committed to defending. Forget media comments and tw@tter and all that you might see your arse with the mananger or the fans but at least as a defender the minimum you want to see is the passion to do your job on the pitch well. Johnny stopped doing that a while back, under Martinez he could have had a fresh start but in the more competitive later preseason games he was back wimping out of 50-50 balls in the air or on the deck. Sorry Johnny not good enough for EFC. Hope you get your move.
