...moot point. I remember Mick Doherty (Chief Scout) declaring that Heitinga was the best defender in the Club and he has certainly been close to this at times, but I fear his head hasn't bee right for a while and he's been seeing out his time. With that in mind, I would say others deserve to be ahead of him. I would want to see more of Alcaraz before making a true comparison, but feel he will prove to be a shrewd piece of business.

Strange case the boy Heitinga when he played that first game for us in europe (was it metalist?), I thought - what massive shte - another Moyes big money (for us) clanger.

Gradually he won me over and in the end I thought he was our best footballer but when Moyes put Jags back in after injury it just killed him and he's never recovered.
