Henry Onyekuru

English players going to English teams. More importantly, to the same team - no other club would pay that. It would be double what we paid without his ever wearing an Everton shirt - I think that's pretty decent business.
The other problems is how much we are set to lose on Bolasie Williams etc. We need to make real cash if we sell players who are assets.

Think the more important thing of getting rid of them two donkeys is the wages. Both must be on 75k+ so getting them off the wage bill, even for peanuts will be worth it. Say £40m and £200k of wages for the four of them - can go get Neres or the likes with that which is a definite upgrade when you consider neither of them kicked a ball for us this season.

Don't know how credible the quotes are mind:

"My desire is to stay at Galatasaray," Onyekuru told Hurriyet (via SportWitness ).

"If Everton listen to me, then I will gladly stay at this great club. But of course, this is something which can be decided between the two clubs."

Hürriyet is another terrible source mate, never ever believe them

Williams is gone on a free, Bolasie we won't make a cent off of. He was signed on a 5 year deal, he'll have two years left, his book value is 10M, he won't go for that. That's just how it's going to be.

Add McCarthy, besic, jagielka (wages), mirallas (wages), niasse, Sandro (wages) and Pennington (£3m say) and that’s a fair enough we could bring in/save on wages for players who hardly contribute (if at all). I’d also consider moving lookman and Henry on. Needs to be a mass clear out with 4/5 quality players brought in.

I'd strongly argue that there's no guarantee Neres is any better than Henry or Lookman. Ziyech yes but not necessarily Neres.

And I would counter that until any of them have played any serious game time, in this league, its very, very difficult to say.
Which is kind of my point. Why sell two player for one at the same price when we have no real idea which is actually the best. Anyone who says they know which of Neres, Onyekuru and Lookman has the best PL career is guessing really.

I was including Ziyech also.
That's still fair. But he's 26 so there's more to work with resume wise. Doesn't mean he'd make it in the Prem but definitely easier to tell for the trained eye I imagine.

Neres and Henry have under 100 games and Lookman might have 30 so that feels harder and not worth doing a 2 for 1 kind of thing for. I'd be very confused what the plan is if we binned off Henry and Ademola without really seeing if they have it.

Yeah like your favourite Lookman.
I'd be disappointed if we sold Henry or Lookman but Id really be lost if we sold both to replace them with one player who is the same age and same level of question mark. What's the point of buying young talent if we just throw it out without using it? While we need to make real cash if we sell we also could just not sell and try to develop even a little bit.

I think its different reasons really.

IMO, Lookman will be wanting away, no game time at all this season, be very surprised if he stuck around. Still not convinced we will get a permit for Henry fella, think if somebody offers us some serious dough he will bail.

But yeah, its hard to say who would offer us more.
