We criminally underfund/disregard mental healthDid you keep a straight face when you posted that.......
We criminally underfund/disregard mental health

50 years mate. 3 or 4 generations of kids, all of whom have lost out. So while we wait for some Utopian ideal that no one has been able to deliver in half a century, we should just carry on as before. The definition of Insanity is to do the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. When should we do something different ?......
Because they are so different..We criminally underfund Heart Disease, Cancer and a whole host of other things, but why have a separate Shadow Minister.......

Pete - actual Labour have been in power for seven of those fifty years (its twenty if you count Blair and Brown, though on education they were no different from the Tories given that they brought in academies, effectively ended the grant system and brought about tuition fees), and for those seven years they actually did try and bring about sensible reform (expanding the university system, building schools*, increasing the number of teachers, decreasing class sizes etc) whilst maintaining the one key thing (the grant system) that allowed poor but academically gifted children to get on in life.
If you want to attack the waste of the last fifty years, there is only one party to blame for it.

Because mental health policy impacts on far more government departments than heart disease or cancer does.
Point taken but I'm not having that. It's twenty years or whatever of Labour Government. You can't do a piece of revisionism because you didn't like Blair (Education, education, education). Labour MP's were still in place and in power. I do however blame the Conservatives for not putting Grammar Schools back in place when they were in power though........
