Jarvis might, but he's too inexperienced.

Benn, no chance. If he had genuinely leadership ambitions, he wouldn't have picked so publicly a fight with Corbyn and the far left. Honestly don't think he even wants it.

Dan Jarvis is not tainted by association in any post under Corbyn or Blair/Brown.

All views of him as a man of principle and dignity flying right out the window eh?

Agreed. But we don't know what he's like under pressure or... well, anything really.

He's the ideal candidate simply because he hasn't said or done anything stupid, rather than because he's done anything particularly well.

he was an officer in the Army and I believe fought in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kosovo rose to rank of major so mus be used to pressure.

All a matter of choice mate. Who would you like? and don't say Chicozaul.

I don't know who it will be, obviously, but it seems to me that after the party shifting towards the right for so many years under New Labour, Corbyn seems to have mobilised the sleeping left of the party again. Labour need to put somebody in that is right down the middle of the two, or at least one who may be accepted by both. In my opinion, Benn was far too vocal on the Syria bombings, and for me, the speech he gave should have been the absolute death knell for his part any future leadership race for Labour, never mind his abstaining on the vote against the disability cuts.

I honestly cant give you an answer on who I would want, but of those that are there, Benn is one that I certainly wouldn't.

Different fields though I'm afraid. He might have been a talented soldier, but not a talented leader of a political party.

That said, as I note above, he's pretty much Labour's only electable option.

Check out his Wiki, you will be surprised.

The Labour Party and MPs are saying though that he could have been more assertive in his support for the remain camp. As the Leader it must be said that he has not exactly set anything alight. Remember up until he was voted the Leader, he has always been anti Europe and consistently voted against the Labour government when in power.

You could see Corbyn's heart wasn't in the referendum, the only time he became passionate was when he was talking about protecting workers rights.

Dan Jarvis is the only one that could win an election right now. Distinct from Blairites, hasn't picked an argument with the left, and would have mass appeal to the electorate.

The problem is his inexperience. He's more green than Blair in 1997. But he'd be the best of a bad bunch.

remember farage saying he would be worried if labour appoint jarvis, always pick who your enemies fear most..
