Good on him. He's gained a lot of my respect so far for his stance (whether he's got another agenda or not). A truly shameful display from the PLP. Another opportunity to lay into the Tories and they choose now to try and oust Corbyn again. What a bunch of morons.

Yeah, how dare they do what they feel is best for their constituents' long term needs. How simply dare they.

mate 81% of the party want him out, if was like 30/40% i could understand but he has no confidence in virtually the whole plp

Spot-on.

And I extend that to the corbynistas who complained loudest & bitterest about the referendum result.

They knew what they were getting when they voted for him. Yet they've facilitated this by complaining about the result loudest & bitterest.

The next leader (I hope Corbyn wins, as much as what I dislike about what I've found out about him since he became leader) will abandon the anti-austerity message; or at least place it way further back in the party's priorities.

Nice one, divs. :mad::(:mad:

That same 81% didn't want him in the first place though, so what does it matter? He wasn't elected leader by the PLP, he was elected by the Labour party members. If it was 81% of the entire membership were voting no confidence, then yeah, I'd be inclined to agree perhaps. But 150-odd less-than-impressive MPs? No ta.

depends how you look at it, those mps were elected by the public..

basically its a massive sh1t3 show and not good for anyone!

I will tattoo Steven Gerrard's hat-trick in the derby onto my own ball sack if Labour, with a new leader, get even close to winning the next election.
I'll hold you to that.
Back on topic what's to stop Corbyn stepping down then running for leader when put to a vote by party members?

Corbyn should resist these attacks and continue as leader. I'm not even being cynical about this

Theresa May skulks in the background during referendum keeping her options wide open and antagonising no wing of the Conservative party. She is hailed for her tactical nous and considered a worthy Prime Minister.

Jeremy Corbyn campaigns repeatedly for the Remain side, despite any previous personal views to the contrary, and delivers the Labour membership. He is torn apart for his lack of enthusiasm by press, professional politicians and commentators of all hues and told he is not worthy to lead the political party, despite a commanding election win a year ago.

Democracy, innit.

It blows my mind. It's like blaming Ringo for John getting shot.
