All to cover their own arses over Chilcott as they know Corbyn will go for the jugular with those implicated by it.

Not a fan of Corbyn but the way Labour are tearing themselves apart over this when they should be taking the government apart is pathetic.

how do you explain the mps who want him out who werent even around during the iraq war?

Yes.

The last thing we need is Brexiteers at the head of both parties as we try and salvage something from this fiasco.

I do wonder if, assuming an election is called, this might be the salvation of the Lib Dems. It seems likely that the Tories will have a Brexiter leading them (ie veering towards social and fiscal conservatism), and Labour might veer towards social conservatism to try and fend off UKIP, thus leaving the field for the Lib Dems to return to their liberal roots and offer something that is both socially and fiscally liberal. I won't hold my breath like, but still.

its just so difficult to predict what people will do, i mean who would expect lib dem voters to vote tory because they went into coalition with the tories!

Easier to follow the majority I guess. Not like it would matter who the Labour leader is if we have an election before christmas as Eagle doesn't inspire much confidence at all anyway.

Hahaha....news thump ........

Jeremy Corbyn has added his voice to the chorus demanding he step down as Labour leader today, before immediately rejecting it again.

Expressing the concerns of his party, Corbyn said he lacked the leadership skills and gravitas to win an election, but insisted his views were wrong and he remains the right candidate.

Corbyn was one of the few remaining sitting MPs of his own or any other party not to have called for his resignation, and he is understood to have added his voice in a spirit of inclusivity.

Acknowledging the problems with his own performance as leader, Corbyn went on to insist that he had a duty to ensure all the members of the Conservative party who paid £3 to appoint him get their money’s worth.

Eagle NOT announcing her challenge today.

Probs waiting to see if Corbyn spews it (I doubt it)

Told yas....She's worse than effing useless. Dithering coo

Hoey was a (rather clueless if I may say so) Brexiter though?

Not really, she has had anti-EU positions for ages - even John Smith sacked her for voting against Maastricht. She is a very good MP, certainly better than Eagle appears to be, and must be doing something right because many of the local councillors (some background to their antics here) hate her.
