Hilary Benn Sacked From The Shadow Cabinet - wider political debate

The referendum was called because cameron was terrified of ukip taking votes away from his party at the election - it worked in the short term ie the tories won unexpectedly but the vote on thursday was won on lies and hatred. i was tempted myself to vote for leave for the same reasons as Dennis Skinner but in the end reluctantly voted the other way. how dare you use the toys out of the pram argument - tell me what is the "wider picture" ? Other than telling EU nationals to "go home " ?

I never siad or intimated that, it is an example of you chucking your toys. For your information IMO all those people now here should stay it is for a future line to be set to control Immigration at that point intime. Als I would propose with regard to Illegals there be an amnesty, if they can demonstrate that they have been here more than five years they should be accepted. That is my position on that point so stop tryingto put words in my mouth.

As for the idea of lies and hatred, please clarify the lies and what hatred certainly not for me.

Having said that it is now done, there is no point in going backwards and raking up such matters. There will not be a second vote, we need to move on.

The wider electorate voted against many in the PLP over the EU vote.

And including JC. I think folk are forgetting that the Labour crisis arose over the perception that JC was lukewarm in
his support of staying in the EU, however it may have been an excuse because of the implications of Momentum ( a party within a party) but I do not think that would have been the cause of so many disaffected MPs.

Erm, be a leader and step in mate?

That's the most bizarre thing, all he had to say was something like "Excuse me but that's unfair" or something to that effect.

I am now genuinely convinced that he's a Tory plant hell-bent on destroying the party.

There are a few factors to consider. The PLP were already losing support from their constituents. They already could see a threat to their comfortable lifestyle. Corbyn was succeeding where they hadn't, among the ordinary (sic) people. They began a whispering campaign a long time before the referendum. They used the referendum as an excuse while emotions were high. Chilcott would provide guilt by association.
They are loyal to the Westminster system and to blair and his project.

They are all self indulgent bellwhiffs, well mostly, as well as cowards and have little to no interest in the wrlfare of the people of this country.

Really?

He dismissed the comments in his speech. In these situations you have to let the idiots speak and then show them up. Free speech etc. This was a lose lose situation. Chakrabatti intervened as chair if I'm not mistaken? There are protocols.

You could be right but a lot of the stuff JC is pushing is actually communism and remember he does not believe in the monarchy for that should be abolished and a Republic formed. That would not go down well.

What I do not understand is the speech just a short while ago about him staying on, why was he rabbiting on about Israel and Muslims??

Anyway for me I would never vote Labour while he was in charge although I have voted that way previously. My reason is that for me JC has blood on his hands, been photographed with MM and BA smiling and shaking hands with them and calling the IRA, freedom fighters. Obviously could not car less about Warrington, Crossmaglen, Arndale to name a few. So mate he will never get my support!

And Mo Mowlem?

The speech was at an antisemitism conference.

Then I do not understand, I thought it was part of his staying put campaign. So is JC antisemitic?

It's just another to add to the list. Said today I've been playing Corbyn bingo and all I'm missing is...he is a friend of Savile's, he has a nasty Buckfast habit and he eats his own bogies..though the last one may apply to someone on the ex continent.

It's the way the media will show a clip, you watch it, then they report on it in a way you don't see. It's reprehensible and they aren't even trying to hide it now.

Reckon he's that much of a threat to the establishment they'll probably make sure he has an unfortunate accident before Chilcott. As leader of the opposition I'm sure he gets the report in full so he can make comment on it in the house of ill repute.

Never did like Tony Blair, but there again did not like any of the party leaders over the years.

Still stand by my last para in my post a bit back.
