If people can't put aside petty arguments for the sake of 96 fellow scousers who died then there the ones with the problem

Maybe these people that are not having the same attitude as you are the ones who have sat next to RS fans singing about Carsleys daughter, or Rhys Jones, or Maddy McCann. Which has happened on more than one occasion.

Maybe these people are not Scousers, maybe a hundred reasons are possible. Who are you to insult them when they have not insulted you. You need not get upset if someone does not agree with you.

Each to their own.

Like I said, I follow the support, as I will be remembering my cousin. I will not be making a song and dance about it, and I do not need a banner to remember, i spend every day remembering.

There is already a taster on this thread dave.

Yes, I take your point. But the vast majority of blues and reds would support and appreciate the gesture. More importantly, the families of the 96 will. Given that it is the twentieth anniversary - and regardless of what a handful of brainless tvvats have chanted about Lee Carsley or Joleon Lescott - for Everton not to acknowledge the occassion would be classless in the extreme. I'm sure the club itself will be marking it with something.

Never forget the 96.

Great idea. Even though i wasnt born, my family was affected as my Uncle was there that day and from the stories he's told me its absolutely unreal what they went through.

This is what I posted on kipper about it:

Let's focus on the match 1st, we've got to get the quarter final out of the way before we start making plans for the semi. If we do get to Wembley though I'd be proud to be associated with the flag, I absolutely despise those bastards but while it was Liverpool fans who died at Hillsborough, it wasn't just a Liverpool FC tragedy, it was something that affected Liverpool the city & the entire football world.

Uncle died at Hillsbrough, 100% support this idea.

To the bitters who don't, jog on. Some things are bigger than football.

And if one of your reasons is that you think some Liverpool fans, and I quote, 'sang about Rhys Jones' then you're an imbecile. Everyone was shocked, appalled and saddened by those events. The incredibly small minority of other fans who would use that for a song are the same insignificant specks that sing about Munich and Hillsbrough, they're not worth thinking about.

There are a minprity of fans on both sides who are nothing short of morons.

I think it would be a great idea, there is in my view nothing partisan about it but remembering the loss of fellow liverpudlians and showing support to their families.

I maybe an Everton supporter and that has been bred into me but I am also a true scouser, aka Liverpudlian. I am proud of Liverpool and of the fact that I was born there and come from there.

I always enjoy immensely the return trips I make to the City.

It's got **** all to do with kipper mate, it was just originally posted there by a member who was asked if she would mind getting involved if we get to Wembley. Here is the original post:

My friends dad is a red and he has asked me that if everton get to Wembley, to remember the Hillsborough 20th anniversary if i would take a flag saying "NEVER FORGET THE 96 - MERSEYSIDE".

He said that he will get the flag made in blue and white colours and that he will also make me another one of my choice relating to everton. Personally i wouldn't mind doing it and can't see any harm in doing so. The fella lost a nephew there who was actually a blue but went toHillsborough that day with his mates who were all reds.

Could anyone see any problems with me doing this for him?
