I'd be behind it.

As for those who are not, sound but drop the anti-all-things-LFC thing for a minute and see its about honouring 96 people who didnt come back from a football match.

One of them was my neighbour and a top, top lad.

We have to make the semis first but I dont know many blues who wouldnt be fully behind it.

im all for this idea

i was at villa park with my dad, my brother is a red but didnt get a ticket. two of his mates did, only one came back

RIP

(edit. was miles away there, typed hillsbough by mistake at first)

it seems a very appropriate way to commemorate that awful day. i remember watching events unfold on tv with tears running down my cheeks. i couldn't believe it when the fa insisted on completing the competition that season, it should have been cancelled as a mark of respect.

This baner is for us to show we remember him and the 95 others in our semi-final 20 years on, and that there families can find comofrt from the fact they have our blessing.

I hope we get to Wembely to make this happen

I am also not sure of the opposition's response to it would be. I very much doubt they will whole heartedly applaud our efforts

It is very doubtful we would be applauded for our efforts?? You got it in one there lad!

& that's a reason not to make a flag that shows we'll never forget those that died?

There's absolutely no doubt that some of the scum that support the redshite will take what would be a genuine mark of respect to football fans who lost their lives & use it as an excuse to have a pop at us, but they'll be in a small minority. Those who understand will respect us for doing it, do you really want the twisted ones to stop us making a gesture to show we'll never forget such a tragedy?

I'll be proud to be associated with it if it happens & it wont be because some kopites will be begrudgingly saying nice things about us. It'll be because even though the majority of bluenoses hate their club and everything about them, when it comes to tragedy's such as Hillsborough, we're willing to rise above it all & show respect to people who have died because of their love of football.

Great idea. I hope a Rhys Jones banner is made too.

I dont know why, and maybe I just getting the wrong vibes from the RS fans from the past few years, but would they do anything similar in remembrance to us if something similar happened to our fans years ago?

Maybe they would but I always get the impression that they're a bit self centred to think about anything like that themselves.

I'm just probably pointing out that for all the moaning their fans do (their loses on the pitch is our success that they love to say) that we dont rise to the bait and are considerate to the loses and tragedies on Merseyside as a whole.

I'd be a very proud blue for the supporters who create the banner.

I am not going to get into any further discussions on the matter, other than i reaffirm my statement that i neither support it or are critical of it. I think its a ticking bomb waiting to explode

Sorry boys but i would not support it do you think the Red [Poor language removed] would do the same if it was the blues ,i don,t think so.Are we going soft.(n)

So you would not support us paying respects to 96 football fans who never came home after a match?

And yes i do think they would do the same for us, they have done in the past!

Your absolutly spot on mate. Footballing rivalries have to be put aside for things such as Hillsborough. No-one deserves to die watching the team they love regardless of who that team is.

My only fear about a possible Hillsborough flag would be that certain ****head Evertonians who have no respect would try and spoil it somehow on the day should we get to the semi final but that aside it's still a great gesture

I couldnt see that, even people who object to it, i doubt any would voice that objection. Im fairly sure there would be thousands of blues in the ground who knows somebody, knew somebody who knew somebody that was affected on that terrible day.

I hate the Rs as much as the next blue, but im sorry this wasnt something that affected just them, it was Merseysides Tragedy. And every football fan in the worlds.

99.9% of us will happily support the banner. The 0.1% that does not will not be silly enough to openly voice their arguments in such a public place.

But I think we have already covered this.

Let us just let it go and show the righteous support as and when the time is right.

Can we stop churning it up over and over again. All points have been made.

I'm wholeheartedly for a banner - but we haven't got there yet!

Speaking hypothetically, if we got United how would they react to it? Although I suppose it doesn't matter really.
