Think it is a great idea remember liverpool played the z cars theme at anfield in rememberance of ryhs jones. Football sometimes comes secondary. It shows what the good people of merseyside are all about.

Obviously I'm not a scouser, but even so I agree, that there are things much more important than a game of football. Don't see anything wrong in putting the rivalry with the RS aside for a few minutes. When one of my best mates died in a car crash last summer, we put up an online condolences register on our website. The messages of support where overwelming and there were also lots from Roda fans, our arch rivals and most hated opponent. There are things much more important in life than a simple game of football, because in the end that's all it really is.

Each to their own though.

I fully support it, it could've so easily have been us, people often overlook that fact. the 96 i'm sure never sang anything untoward in the direction of our club, such as songs that have been mentioned.
i will hold it high if i'm there, with as much reverence as when i sang YNWA at the final in '89.

It would be a fantastic gesture i would be proud to be associated with, this should be done for the 96 and there friends and family though, nothing for Everton or Liverpool as clubs as it was bigger than both.

Definatly a fantastic idea and one I'll 100% support, I mean why wouldnt you?

Can bet you that some Liverpool fans will try and force themselves to see it as a publicity stunt, like there tacky 'Friendship' one for the Juventus fans. That made me cringe. Hopefully they'll realise the senserity of ours.

Quite a few Evertonians have their own personal reasons for not being keen and thats fair enough . After what Liverpool did ( Playing Z Cars at Anfield as a mark of respect for his visiting family ) I think its is only right .

There isnt a person alive who hates Liverpool FC more than me . But would I let that stop me from doing the right thing ? Never .

I wont object but i certainly wont show any support to it neither. If they want to do it, its upto them. I personally feel this will be opening up a big can of worms though

If someone chooses to not to support something that is their choice. They are not insulting you for your beliefs. I do not speak for HB, he can do that himself.

He understands why you want to support. That is your choice.

I personally understand why I will support it, that is MY belief. I will not condemn him for HIS belief.

Yes, I take your point. But the vast majority of blues and reds would support and appreciate the gesture. More importantly, the families of the 96 will. Given that it is the twentieth anniversary - and regardless of what a handful of brainless tvvats have chanted about Lee Carsley or Joleon Lescott - for Everton not to acknowledge the occassion would be classless in the extreme. I'm sure the club itself will be marking it with something.

I can understand HB's PoV. I just think it's a shame that the fear of negative recriminations would be so great that they wouldn't want to support it. Hopefully this isn't too big a problem for most people and they can look past those fears and lend their support despite them.

I am also not sure of the opposition's response to it would be. I very much doubt they will whole heartedly applaud our efforts

I don't know if it's been posted up already on here, so forgive me if it has but certain people on bluekipper are thinking of making a huge banner to take to the semi final should we get there to remember the 96 fans who died at Hillsborough in 1989. I think it's a fantastic idea and one we should all give our support to.

Its a good idea . Anyone whom went the next two games after the tragedy , Forest , Simod Cup Final ; Spurs away in the League , would be aware of Everton's attitude as a club . Superb .
The Forest Ted's at Wembley were another story , but there's nowt as queer as folk , as they said in 19th Century Mining Villages .

and as they said in 20th century mining villages "fukcin' scabs". with a p1ss-head manager who shouldve kept it shut for the 1st time in his life.

A work mate died there and he was a nice guy I think it would be nice and show at least one set of fans on merseyside have standards(y)

It is very doubtful we would be applauded for our efforts?? You got it in one there lad!

Perhaps not, but i would hope that people aren't doing it for the pat on the back. Should we not pay our respects just because some people might act like tw*ts over it??
