Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

  • Holgate recklessly pushes Firmino into the crowd
  • Holgate is not booked
  • Holgate claims he is racially abused tarnishing reputation of Firmino who lashes out obviously by calling“son of a b**ch” towards Holgate in Portugeese
  • Holgate avoids any punishment for endangering the safety of another
  • FA say “not enough evidence” on racism but do not say Firmino is innocent
Surely Everton fans can see how wrong this is no matter how biased you are against Liverpool

Pushing players into the crowd happens every single game. Only the hysterical kopites have now turned it into a red card assault. It’s a yellow at most. You don’t get banned from games for pushing a player out of play despite how much the kopites think the laws of football should bend for them.

No it doesn't you absolute balloon.

He's at least ok'd them.

As said, he knows the suspicion will always be there that the FA only failed to charge him because of insufficient amounts of evidence. A technical dismissal of his case.

He'll always have this on his plate.

This is not the view in RS-World.

In a statement Liverpool added: "Roberto has co-operated fully with the process and shown a willingness to engage and assist throughout, with the only objective being to discover the truth of what happened.

"We are satisfied that the outcome of the process has exonerated the player of using any racist or discriminatory language."

Holgate should have hit him with a concrete slab, would have been sorted in no time.

Straightforward decisions have a tendency to go wrong in derbies. This time it was your turn. Holgate should have been booked, but that's all.

LFC would say that. But others looking in at this (many of their own fans and rednose journos like Bascombe) see what the FA have done here: given an ambiguous verdict that evidence was present though not enough to conclusively clinch a charge.

They are right to suggest that this verdict settles nothing.

Holgate pushes him,ref sees it takes no action,Firmino loses his temper,Holgate convinced he used the N word,Holgate avoids punishment because the ref didnt see a problem,Fa says not enough evidence which means they dont know
Surely Liverpool fans can see this despite backing a racist previously and making constant attacks on a young player who complained

What ive been saying since day one. Madley heard it and didnt book Holgate for that push. Hoped it would be forgotten...it wasnt...he went all "didnt hear a thing"

Coward.

The conclusion was expected. RS lawyer army won.

Whether or not you’re falling over yourself to defend Firmino on here, that club is rotten to the core, they’d do anything to try and gain an edge and their copybook is blotted with some of the darkest blots in football history. In an ambiguous impasse his anyone could honestly believe one of their words v Holgate’s is beyond comprehension. The FA have basically come out and said they can neither prove his innocence or guilt and people are on here celebrating with a big I told you so banner like they’ve won something.

Fools.

The feller is as hard nosed as they come. He must feel as though he can do anything on the pitch now that the FA has ok'd his right to call other players sons of whores under the refs nose too.

Makes a mockery of the #Respect campign. The FA could and in my opinion should have disciplined BOTH players for not respecting each other (Push into Hoardings and Puta comment) This way they would have come out not looking so weak while drawing a line in the sand for all further cases. Instead, its an 'As you Where' scenario.
