I dont see what's unhinged about stating Firmino will be under suspicion from now on. He wont be able to open his mouth on the pitch in anger without people wondering what it is he's saying...and if it;s a black player he's in conflict with then that is multiplied. That's all because Firmino only avoided a charge because it was not categorical he;d said what he was accused of. Dont forget, this wasn't in any way shape or form an innocent verdict, it was a case unproven verdict.

I have a feeling that the report may well suggest that Firmino was guilty of armed robbery. He was obscured by Jonjo so the imaginary footage you are talking about could easily of shown slightly blurry footage of Firmino pulling a gun on an innocent pensioner. Obviously I have no evidence for this but then again it hasn't seemed to have stopped you has it Dave.

I shall now no longer refer to Firmino not as Firmino but as the granny robber.

His life is now over, he will have to cross the street every time he sees a pensioner. Imagine the hassle he will have programming the location of every bingo hall in the country into his Sat Nav. I think you're getting caught up in literalism.

The point being made is that the FA's wording of their conclusion leaves the doubt and speculation over what Firmino DID say. The report might shed light on this, but regardless of that the matter is going to be still very sensitive for Firmino. Even Liverpool fans accept this and you know what basket cases they are.

His head may have obscured the camera for a split second but as one of the players closest to the scene he was undoubtedly one of the 12 players from both teams asked to give evidence. Yet he was unable to back-up what his mate Mason thought he'd heard. Both the ref and Jonjo were probably closer to Firminho at the moment of obscured camera, yet neither heard a racial slur (presumably Tom Davies who was also close at that point was one of the 12 too and he didn't hear anything either). I think theirs was probably the crucial evidence in the FA's decision not to charge, along with the camera footage not revealing anything untoward either.

I've no doubt Mason thought he'd heard something but as nobody else in the immediate proximity did (including 2 of his own mates and the referee) it seems highly likely he just misheard. Time for everyone to just move on; raking over this is of absolutely no benefit to anybody, Mason included.
