Holgate Racially Abused By Firmino - The Guardian

Loads of people criticise the out of towners but to be honest if you’re a blue in a Liverpool pub on derby day and Everton equalise or take the lead you can feel the violent tension. They mock us mercilessly when we’re in front yet if you celebrate an equaliser you get gangs of kopite blerts telling you to F off. It never works the other way round. Being better than Everton is all they have left. If that’s ever taken away complete anarchy would befall their fan base.
So much for the friendly rivalry. :(

It’s friendly as long as Liverpool win, that’s the sad truth. Nothing really friendly about that Steau Bucharest banner in 86 was there at the height of the so called ‘friendly derby’.
Also they make all these banners with digs towards us, but they claim not to care. As you say just listen to how much winging about the Rooney penalty they have done for a month. Even sensible ok RS were claiming it wasn't a penalty. Their attitude towards their own fans is just as bad, every time they lose a major final there's lots of trouble. They can't take defeat, even United fans don't behave as idiotic as them when they lose. Honestly their club does seem to attract sociopaths, go to any pub and see the behaviour. People doing coke in the toilets every 10 minutes, blaming the referee for everything, racially abusing their own players. I'm sure it was a Liverpool fan who broke into Melwood to confront St Stevie. When they're doing rubbish they're nowhere to be seen, when they're doing well they all come out of hibernation. They couldn't even fill their ground, when they were given free tickets for Utrecht in 2010. I've never really understood, why their fans are considered great supporters. They're not in terms of atmosphere, they're not in terms of loyalty and certainly not in terms of behaviour.

I think only they consider themselves as great supporters, around the country they have always been the most disliked set of fans around. Don't forget it wasn't just us who suffered after what they did to the innocent Juventus fans, also Manchester United, Norwich, Spurs and Southampton missed out.

Ive tried to tell the "Cant get tickets" brigade one of the reasons they have so many tourist's is because during the Souness/Evens (2 club legends they treated really badly) era a load bailed and that's when the Norwegian started buying the season tickets because no locals wanted them. Reality is they are glory hunters but without the glory to go with it

To be honest, I don't even think there is a "small minority" of Evertonians would "mock" Hillsborough.

And if such a cretin does exist, he or she would not be native to the City of Liverpool.

Because as you rightly say, Hillsborough was a tragedy that hit the City of Liverpool, not merely Liverpool F.C.

As anyone travelling home from Villa Park on a coach or train that day will attest.

On our coach, the atmosphere was solemn because half the Blues on it had brothers, uncles, sisters, cousins, mates etc. in Sheffield with the RS and it impossible to get news of them in those pre cell phone days.

I'm not from Liverpool but my familly is and I have always Been told about how hillsborough was tragic for the city and not just the Liverpool fans. I agree that there is no minority that would mock that event unless they wernt from the city and I would go further and say that they don't have any family or friends connected to the city.

Mason might get a ban for the excess force - a few games. That's no big deal to him or the club. More importantly is the potential misbehaviour of Firmino. If he had verbally abused Holgate he will get a long ban which may or may not excuse action against Holgate. All the other guff the Kopites are coming out with is total BS - so no surprise there. I really don't know what all the fuss is about. If they think their man hasn't misbehaved then clearly the FA will act accordingly. But all their bitter supposition is typical Kopite deflection as we well know.

Wasn't he booked? Holgate I mean... that means that the ref has seen it and he can't be charged doesn't it?

He wasn't booked but the ref has seen it clearly so he won't be getting charged. The people saying it was a red need to wind it in anyway. Not nearly enough to be classified violent conduct.

Anyone notice Fermino isn't white and this is all a bunch of BS from an English kid not understanding Portuguese. OOOOOH OUTRAGE!!!

You do realise that racism isnt just between a white person and a black person right?

There are hundreds if not thousands of different races, coulors, creeds of people all able to be racist to each other. On lots if different levels.

Imagine if a gay man claimed a lesbian woman was being homophobic to him. Would you just say "well your both gay. You probably just don't understand her because she's from skem".
