Madley has to claim this. If he admits to hearing it on the pitch and doing nothing he’s effectively condoning racism which he’s never going to admit to. My suspicion is he heard everything (hence why he didn’t book Holgate) but realised what that would mean for the game so did nothing. Why else would he run off to Moss if he’d heard a completely normal interaction?

Here's another theory

Jon moss sent off mane earlier in the season maybe he didn't want to be involved in another similar controversy so told Madley to keep his cards in his pockets
 
If the fa find there was no inappropriate language then that just confirms how far they are up liverpools backside he said something abusive that's undisputed, they are going to have to print what he said prior to Holgate going mental.

It really is if you look at it objectively, every other theory here is far less obvious and involves pretty much assuming there is a conspiracy or that the refs have tried to sweep it under the carpet.

What’s the most obvious answer in your view ?

Everything about the incident points it to actually happening.

Holgates reaction is genuine. No way he can act like that without hearing racist abuse.

Liverpool are known for backing and supporting their racist players. Players at other clubs would think twice before using suck epithets but liverpool players know their club is on with it so more likely to use racist language.

Mackey doesn't punish Holgate for the push. Why not? Unless he's trying to minimise tbe situation?

Why is talking to the 4th official? Not the actions of someone who hasn't heard anything.

Do reports include things you haven't heard? The report saysadley says he didn't hear the racist abuse. This doesn't ring true, wouldn't the report just include things he did hear. Sounds like more propaganda from the RS Mirror.

i do think Holgate not getting booked is telling, even with my blue tinted goggles on Holgate should have got a yellow. If Madley hasn't heard anything then he still books Holgate.
 
The only way Firmino is getting banned is if he either admits to it (never gonna happen), the referee claims he heard it (probably won't happen otherwise he would have sent him off) or there's another camera angle picking up his words that we haven't yet seen. Firmino probably did say it for Holgate to flip like that but unfortunately due to a lack of evidence it is likely that Firmino and the RS will walk away from this one.

If he has said it, you would hope that Liverpool would be pushing him to admit it after the damage they went through in the Suarez incident. If he denies it then is found tongave said it it’s yet another episode that will reflect awfully on them. As of yet no one from Liverpool has said anything. Why not just come out and back Firmino if you believe he’s innocent?

He probably didn't book him because of Holgate's accusation, not because he necessarily heard Firmino say anything. It was suspicious of course that the ref didn't book Holgate as it was an absolutely cast iron yellow card, but if he's got one guy going mad saying he's just been racially abused, he'd have felt quite differently about producing a yellow card.

I honestly hope he hasn't racially abused him and he has just misheard him. If he has racially abused him he needs a lengthy ban simple. Got no time for racism - can't be in football. Like i said i hope he hasn't.

Mate this is the RS we're talking about, they have absolutely zero shame and could find an insult in a bouquet of roses. They'll have learned lessons from the Suarez case so they'll wait until the last possible moment to make sure that no new incriminating evidence against Firmino comes out then they will back him to the hilt. That's before they give the order to their media payroll to give Everton and Holgate both barrels..
