He said we should copy Liverpool and this is JK first XI...

You can put lipstick on a pig, but at the end of the day, it’s still a pig springs to mind.

When he’s inherited this horror show of a team, what’s he meant to do, if he has 2-3 more Midfielders of his choosing then instantly the side is transformed.

Sadly, especially since the restart too, the midfield has literally been left behind. They’ve been non-existant.

He’s got a worldwide pedigree and has been one of the best managers in the game, but he isn’t a miracle workers. Let him get stuck into the transfer market and let’s get to work.

So no, I’m not happy, but he’s signed none of these jokers so let’s see how It goes.

We all said restart football would be trash, we all said it would be worse than pre-season matches, yet somehow we’re analysing the games to judge the manager? Hmm

Some teams did well after the restart, so it kind of makes the Covid shout a bit redundant IMO.

I think he has done ok. Nothing spectacular but he is working with a very average team esp midfield made up of throw aways from other teams.
That snowballs ,as if you look at the chances created for our forwards its shocking. How anyone could judge the likes of moise kean or any forward this year with that service is beyond me. I think he needs to replace the 4 in midfield. Gomes will improve with time and quality around him. The rest have got bundles of play time and are rubbish.

So I find it difficult to judge him this season. Ok for what he had. I expect improvements next season if backed in transfer market.

6.5/10

Far too soon to be judging Carlo who inherited one of the worst squads in the Prem that was in serious danger of being relegated.
Put the same thread up when he has his own choice of players in.

Vast majority looked trash, looked knackered, needed 2 water breaks, need 5 subs.

dress it up how you will...my original point still stands. 5 games in and we were getting passed all over the park by a Southampton side who looked miles better than us and as a result have finished higher than us.

He took us up from 3rd from bottom with a squad made of paper, if he gets the right players in he wants next season there will be big improvement

I do agree with the idea of your post but in fairness I think we were 15th when he took over , we were in the bottom 3 when Duncan took charge . Ancelotti has taken us up a couple of places and we finished 12th .

like I say I agree with what you’re suggesting but I think we’d already seen a upturn in form when he landed.

It has been an awful season but that has got nothing to do with Carlo. He came here 6 months ago to a quagmire of a squad that were definitely heading for relegation and his main priority was to make sure that didn't happen which is exactly what he did. If you ignore the matches since the farcical restart and project his performance since being in charge to the first half of the season when the beaut Silva was still in charge then we would have been finishing somewhere around 6th which is astonishing considering the dog muck of a squad he has had to work with.

If the tossers above him listen to him and give him what he wants and needs then i think good things will happen. My biggest worry is that they wont and he will be held back but we will just have to wait and see.

I wasn't even addressing any of your posts you just jumped in on mine?

sorry? you responded to my post and suggested we were crap as most teams were after the break as some kind of excuse for our performances.

I’m surprised we didn’t kick on after the lockdown, especially when you think of the spirit and fight Duncan Ferguson put in the players in his brief spell, those points have been priceless.
I thought there would of been more tbh, I really want him to succeed and although he’s made tactical/formation switches in games I’ve not seen individual players play any better, and the spirit seems really low.
I hope this is the calm before the storm, but if you compare Duncan’s first game to the game on Sunday they seem miles apart.
I don’t see Duncan as the answer, just saying I would of expected similar if not better performances under Carlo
