Horse Racing

.....we say goodbye to NH racing this week with the fabulous Punchestown Festival in Ireland. Lots of superstars will be out & nothing will be as mouthwatering as seeing the brilliant Monkfish take on Envoi Allen in what will be a great pointer to next years Gold Cup.

From a punting perspective, I’ll be dipping into the ‘win Punchestown/Cheltenham’ market. It’s a great way of boosting odds for Cheltenham.

it’ll be a terrific few days to watch even without having a bet.

....as above, the ‘win today & Cheltenham’ market is worth consideration. Managed to get Galopin Des Champs @ 40-1 ’any race’ & @ 66-1 Festival Novice Chase (now a best priced 10-1). Long way to go but nice to have it in the book at fancy prices.

One of most open 2000 Guineas I can remember.

10/12 previous winners won last time out and were rated 110 or higher.

Chindit
Master of the Seas
Van Gogh.

Chindit and Van Gogh for me, both 12/1

Going to Redcar tomorrow. The Zetland Gold Cup is the feature race. Really looking forward to going. Haven't been to the races since August 2019 when we were on holiday in Norfolk and fitted in a meeting at Great Yarmouth and a trip to the National Stud in Newmarket.

Also racing at Redcar = going early, a walk on the beach, fish and chips and ice cream.

I’m home in the morning so I’ll do a bet I think, bank holiday so why not.

A bit of reading for you

Tip.....

Emporium Flame has been declared to make his debut on Monday in the 2.55 at Redcar over 5 furlongs, Jason Hart takes the ride. He has been going very well at home and we think this is the right time to make his debut; he’s a horse with lots of natural speed. Redcar is a perfect course for newcomers being a very flat and fair track. From how he moves and how he is bred he will be best effective on good ground, with the sun shining and the ground drying he should get it. It is going to be a big day for him with lots going on, let us hope everything goes right and he runs a nice race. Good luck to everybody involved
