I'd still prefer to keep Coleman even if the offer was huge.

He's a regular starter, he's valuable on the field.

Plus he has that bit of snide and edge in him that we need, will never forget that time he bumped into and fronted up John Terry at the Bridge, funny as heck.

Yeah you've got a good point about Martinez's record with transfers so far, it's not particularly bad i think it's just we've been so used to Moyes finding unpolished diamonds time and again. But to be fair he's now shopping in a different market and if we got a big wedge of cash he should have enough to adequately fill the void and invest elsewhere.

It may sound like I'm advocating selling Coleman, I'm not, it's just if the offer comes along that's high end we'd probably take it and hopefully invest it wisely.

You know RM signed Besic and Geri; not exactly catchment area of Wigan or North West.

I think we need to give Rom and Stones a reason to stay otherwise they'll be gone next summer. Selling Coleman won't help.

Like I said in my earlier post. Not just valuable on the field but galvanises the support off it. A rags to riches story and seems such a humble man who appreciates everything the game and Everton has given him. In this day and age that is a rarity. He brings so much to the team and a club as a whole.

I'm not convinced Coleman is the reason Lukaku and Stones signed long term deals with Everton last year, if we do well in the league or cups this season like the one before last that'll be enough to convince them to stick around.

Anyway considering the bid they've supposedly put in for the worlds most decorated defender, who's in his prime, I wouldn't be to concerned Utd will meet our asking price now.

Andy Hunter says we have no intention of selling Coleman but still have firm interest in Byram. Makes sense with Browning & Hibbert being his only backup.

We've been rumored with Sam Byram for quite some time. I distinctly remember seeing us linked with him back when we were first looking at Stones. Would not be surprised to see him end up here.

edit: here is the old article I was thinking of.. Everton chase Leeds' Sam Byram

Seamus feels like "one of ours" having come to us at such a small price and with no experience. That said if £25M is on the table for a lad who makes a few mistakes at the back and often marauds with more threat than actual delivery then I'd bite their hand off (nb he scores a few though). As much as I like the player that's a price worth accepting.
