How do we score?

By bringing in at least 2 more strikers so we are able to rotate where necessary, compete for the right to play and have choice. Most of the teams above us have options up front - we have very little options.

We need to play Barkley in "the hole". He is far more suited to playing just behind a centre forward than in the deep role we've seen for most of the season - with our lack of firepower, this has never been the case more. His quick feet and physical ability will cause a nightmare for most teams in this league, so much so that he would likely end up being marked by two players at once which obviously opens up space for other players (think: full-backs).

He has the potential to be as good as Stevie Me was about five years ago when he was playing behind the gender-confused one who's at Chelsea now.

That's where he normally plays anyway. Right now he isn't playing well anyway so i'm not sure he's going to be the answer.

we had two great opportunities from free kicks that got cleared far too easily, numerous corners, and if mirallas had passed to naismith im sure we could have scored from open play too

Is this the polite way of acknowledging that this passing game that we have been playing is nowhere near as effective as it needs to be?

It's effective enough if we're in the lead, but i don't think we're direct enough when we need goals. It's frustrating when we're in a position to get the ball into the box and then we pass it back across the midfield again until we lose possession.

Yet were sat on our highest points total for this stage in over twenty five years?

In its first season too? Phwoar. Imagine if - and bare with me here - we go on to even improve it next season? Imagine that.

What do you think is the reason why we fail to open up defence?

5 strikers when we only play 1 up front??

Our play in the last third of the pitch is dreadful of late, today we kept looking for free kicks outside of the box. Spurs didn't bite.
