How do you know? They would’ve needed 10 more to reach that figure with us still to play at home. Them being 3 points behind us would’ve been far far worse for us. You can’t just assume teams will lose all their games against certain sides, you probably assumed we’d lose yesterday.
Fair point to an extent. But I would rather have the opportunity to go ahead of Leeds in our next game with a game in hand and better fixtures. That would have put us in an excellent position.

We still need results to go on our favour regardless. As long as Burnley fail to pick up the points required to overtake us we’ll be ok. Not having to worry about Watford as well would be a bonus for me.

Watford would have needed a miracle even if they won yesterday. For me the only positive to come out of Leeds winning is that Watford may have downed tools by the time we play them. Not that they did much against Leeds yesterday anyway.

We could still catch Leeds, their run in is pretty tough, Palace away next, then City, Arsenal and Chelsea
I still don’t think Brentford are clear, their game against West Ham today is key. If they win I think they’ll be fine, if they lose their next 3 are Watford away, Spurs at home, United away. Then they have Southampton at home before playing us. We pups be in a position where if we beat them we go above them and Leeds. That would then see us safe as they play each other last game of the season.

If we can muster up 3 wins in the final 8 games (4 of which are at home), that would put us on 37 points which will probably be enough to be safe this season. Play with the same the passion and intensity as we did yesterday and we should be ok.

Against that, they play Burnley in a few weeks so we need Watford to still have a sniff of survival to keep them up for that game.

I think 36 points would probably do it, but we would then be heading into the final game of the season looking over our shoulders and having to hope Burnley don’t win on the final day.

Getting to 36 points though is still 2 wins and 2 draws away from where we are now. Based on the current form we don’t draw many, it’s either win or bust,

I’m kind of hoping that we go into the final day 4 points clear of the drop, knowing that the last game doesn’t matter and we can start planning for the future
