I can just about understand what attracted the board to Silva in the first place. He did get a tune out of the Hull squad (including that win over our neighbours) & almost saved them. He had Watford playing well.

...but the way he downed tools after our approach showed an appalling lack of character. We shouldn’t have touched him with a barge pole! Moshiri really showed he had no plan B. Embarrassing.

Now we’ve lost count of the reminders of how big a mistake this was. He certainly should have gone after Millwall. Aston Villa....Sheffield United...Bournemouth... If he’s not gone after this, the fans need to turn there attention to Moshiri. He’s the one that got us in this mess. Koeman, Allardyce, Silva.
What he'd done at Hull and Watford should never have been enough for us to go to the lengths we did to get him.

Did he down tools?

I've always thought he did but now I'm convinced he's just fu**ing crap and was found out massively.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing though boss.

Either Silva is a manager who got 2 crap teams playing really well and just needed a chance to take a club higher with more freedom and resources.

Or we hired a manager who was relegated and sacked within the 12 months before we hired him.

As I said in the 2nd paragraph though, his behaviour after our approach should have ended our interest. That’s not hindsight, I know that’s how I felt at the time & plenty others.

Given he was sacked after a poor run of form over December and January where he stopped winning, then came here and did the exact same thing. I think there is a pararell there.

Is it normal for clubs to sack managers on a sunday or would it be done/announced Monday?

If its true Silva was also present at the meeting it sounds like he's again got more time - no way he would have been sacked yesterday and been told to keep it hush until monday.

We’re a charity with a dismal football club attached. We should focus on handing out money to locals which is something at which we excel.

sad to say but you are right we bring nothing to the city football wise these days.

That lot will continue to parade trophies through the city and knock murals up around town of the manager and players whilst we focus on EITC/BMD and keep burying misery upon the fanbase.

Shambles of a club we are - its the bumbling nature of us that makes it that much worse, I can accept failure I cant accept sheer laziness/incompetence which is Evertons board.

I have never joined in the anti Silva campaign on this site, until now that is. The reality of zero points from Leicester and you know where shortly afterwards, will increase the pressure to change, by which time we might be hovering around the relegation 3. I do not think we will go down but I do not want to be involved in a relegation battle. It is staring the board in the face that a change is needed. What change is a real problem. It is easy to rattle around other managers from Bournemouth, Leeds, Burnley and hold them up as examples of what we should go for. Passing the club at this critical stage to a foreign manager is unthinkable. By the time they gather their wits we will be in deep do do.

EITC can eff right off. Everton is a football club. The objective is to win football matches, nothing else. Every time I hear Baxendale speak it seems to be about everything under the sun except football.
