How stupid are Manu?

Sugar daddies lavish largesse on the objects of their desire.....and United's sugar daddies have lavished a quarter of a billion quid on their wee pet thus past twelve months.

And they still don't look a patch on Chelsea and Citeh.

United are becoming a laughing stock.

If this blows up in their faces there will be another new manager in this time next year.

I am no apologist or defender of Utd, but that is rubbish. Every penny spent by them has been earned, by the club. The Glaziers may well have sanctioned the spend, but it isnt their money. And for one reason. They need the club to be in the elite, so they have to protect their "investment".

But now, at last, we're laying down a marker - we're getting in players that WOULD get into the Real Madrid and Barcelona first 11.

Yes, that Di Maria would walk into Madrid's first XI.

That's why he had to be pushed, screaming and kicking, out the front door at the Bernabeu and write an open letter to the fans saying how much he hated leaving

I think I can. You have a million glory hunters buying replica shirts.

When you're a big club, you attract glory hunters. Glory hunters buy your products, you spend that money on players, you win trophies.

It's how football works.

However, we were not spending the vast amounts of money we make on players like City and Chelsea were. They were spending money that THEY DIDN'T EARN THEMSELVES on players.

See the difference?

Oh dear. You really do come across as nothing else but bitter and angry that we're signing good players. Di Maria was Real Madrid's best player last season bar Ronaldo. You can't go even go there.

And those shirts made in third world sweatshops.

Manchester United.....seizing the moral high ground because they "generate" their cash off've the labours of poor people working for a pittance and not from some nasty Russian oligarch or Arab potentate.

You couldn't make it up.

;)

I personally don't mind City and Chelsea spending big on players - makes the league interesting! You'd soon change your tune if Scrooge Kenwright got the chequebook out. Your posts just smack of bitterness :)

Arsed if United are paying peanuts for having shirts made, it's not like ours are being made in England, there's no moral ground for any football clubs there.

I still have had the lols over the fact that united can still attract the likes of Di Maria and Falcao whilst being lucky to make top 6 (before the signings) this season, and Liverpool could only attract Ricky Lambert. Just LOL.

Man Utd have bought some world class players for a lot of money over the last 2 years to add to a squad that already won the league in a canter.

They really should be back among the big time very shortly and if they aren't it's a huge failiure by van gaal.

They simply do have to be managed appalingly badly to not do well with the ammount of off field resources and on field talent they have at their disposal.

Which is why it is so funny when it happens (as it has happened for the last year). It will be a sad day when they get their house back in order.

But according to Brent, you "have to be in the CL to attract good players. MUFC know this."

Another thing that makes me laugh. For years we've had "Man Utd squad is so average, they never spend any money - City/Chelsea will dominate football forever now."

Then Man Utd spend money "Man Utd no worse than Chelsea and City now. Scum bags, evil Man Utd".

Football fans

I'd still rather them than Chelsea, City or Liverpool.

No idea why. Perhaps it's the Class of '92 + Cantona thing, I dunno.

In the dark days since 1987 of everton being generally not that good, Man U's endless domination is just about the only ammunition we had to throw at the kopites. It really really annoyed them to watch them slowly get overtaken from what they saw as their rightful spot at the peak of english football by a team they hated. Obviously I'd rather that was us but I'm also really rather glad it wasn't the kopites.

So it's natural to have some soft spot for the team that stopped them chanting about 18 times and has been the main reason they've not extended that total for some time. I mean I don't like man utd much as a team at all, I would happily see them get relegated, but as a symbol that liverpool aren't the all dominating winners they used to be, I adore them.
