They're not better than Chelsea this season. No where near.

Not so far, granted. But they get a ton of players back soonish, spend another lump in January. Not saying I think they will win it, but I wouldnt fall of my chair in shock if they did sneak it. Would take some slips from both City and Chelsea, but Utd might just benefit from no CL like the lovables did last season.

im liking there way back up too the top, never had a problem with utd

apart from when Rooney left but thats over now + Moyes, but apart from that
its someone else the Rs hates who can laugh along at them now [not like were in much

[thats norweigian not scouse btw'

almost forgot neville.. im done. i blame them for that only

Bit daft to say no chance in a cup competition. We could get to a final and not even play Roma.

It's all if's and but's though mate. Writing off United in the league is fine but then in the next breath stating that Everton have more chance of winning the Europa League? I'm not convinced.

I'd LOVE you lot to win it, I'll be rooting for you and Spurs all the way. But for me, Everton won't be in the final let alone win the thing. I hope I'm wrong.

Pretty sure there were "better" teams than Wigan in the FA Cup a few years back.

Completely different mate. Europe, as you're well aware, will serve up 2 legged, tactical affairs. There are some VERY good teams left in it this season and I just can't see how Everton can win it with their defensive woes - especially if you do come up against one of the better sides after progressing against Young Boys.

I'm not saying that you WON'T win it because it's happened before - Liverpool in 2005 for example (yuck). But if I was a betting man, I'd put a tenner on Chelsea or City winning the league, not United. And NONE of the English clubs winning the Europa League because none of them are good enough when compared to the competition.

You might be right. Probably are in fact. Wouldnt shock me if you lot win the league as it happens.

Let me weave a little tale then jim which may put this year into perspective.

Back when it was the uefa cup everton went through the 4 eam 5 game group and progress as far as the last 16 before going out to fiorentina. bit of a nothing story you could say.

Except it ended up down to luck. We went out on penalties after battering fiorentina at goodison. they were lucky to get that far let alone knock us out. the went on to play PSV and they beat them as well before going out to anti football rangers. Personally penaltys goes the other way we could have beat rangers and PSV on the back of that. This was the day of Yakubu just signing, Arteta at his best, cahill, peinnar etc

And in the final........Zenit st petersburg, the team we beat in the group stages. So that year i genuinely believe we would ahve won the whole thing with a different flip of the coin so to speak. we didn't and that year united won the cup in russia and zenit won in manchester but it could have been different.

This year we are better than 2008 (i think). We beat a avery very good team in wolfsburg home and away and even i had written us off for the away game. We are cruising and although yeah ROma / Ajax / Beskisas (turkish team) Fernebache, etc could be too good for us, you would have said the same for wolfsburg if they had dropped out the champions league to play us next.

That's all very well and good mate but again it boils down to if's and but's. My original point was that you can't say United won't win the league but Everton have a chance at the Europa League. It doesn't make sense.

I could have argued that we might sign Hummels, Strootman and get all injured players back for rest of season, only having to play one fixture a week, have a manager who has won it all before and go on to win nearly all of our games whilst City and Chelsea will have one eye on the Champions League. But this isn't realistic, again, it's If's & But's. Same goes for Everton in Europe. We both have the same kind of chances of winning stuff this season - slim to none.
