It's all if's and but's though mate. Writing off United in the league is fine but then in the next breath stating that Everton have more chance of winning the Europa League? I'm not convinced.

I'd LOVE you lot to win it, I'll be rooting for you and Spurs all the way. But for me, Everton won't be in the final let alone win the thing. I hope I'm wrong.

United odds to win the Premier League range from 11-14 (although Statto rate then at 55 odds)
Everton odds to win the Europa League range from 13-17

Will be interesting to see when/if Statto provides their take on Everton's EL chances, but more or less I'm with them on United's PL chances

Nah bollocks to that mate, look at Wigan winning an FA Cup, Greece winning a EC etc :p

A cup is a random luck of the draw sometimes, not to mention you only have to beat the team in front of you once. The league is a true show of a team's strength. Roma might be better than us, but we have more chance of either avoiding them or beating them than you guys do of toppling Chelsea.
Those are single tied tournaments, Europa League is two-tied, not easy to fluke here.

Would David Moyes manage at Real Madrid, Barca or Bayern? Hell no, then why was he deemed good enough for us?

So if the current Aberdeen boss won the SPL, and the Europa League, after getting St Mirren into the SPL before that, was available, you wouldnt be interested then?
At the time Rangers and Celtics were massive clubs, Scottish football was pretty good, Scotland used to among the best 16 teams of the world then. Hence, Scottish league was quite prestigious and big European players used to play in it, so Fergie's success in it was indeed a major thing at that time.

Moyes's success with Everton was nowhere near close to that. Moyes never beat any big club away from home, whereas Fergie beat clubs like Bayern and Real. His Aberdeen side was in fact the better side on that day in Rotterdam, could have scored more. When did Moyes's side produced such a display?

Two legged ties are still affected far more by random chance events like a red card or a hamstring strain to a key player than a full season. Not as much as a straight knockout match but it still can make for some unpredictable winners.,
The biggest drawback English sides have in Europe is that there's winter break. Clubs like Everton who have much inferior resources than bigger clubs suffer in Europe largely because of that reason. It also affects your national side.

Capitalism in UK is the reason behind it. The English football league system is first of all a capitalistic business. The FA national team, which is more of a socialistic concept, don't have any importance to the Football League, hence there's no winter break so that the league can reap value from the fan interest during the festive period. Such football league would never be allowed in Germany.

You may be right, you may not about the impact of the winter break/finances but we'll just have to deal with the situation we find oursleves in. Which is in the last 32, having had good performances in the group phases and a decent upcoming opponent.

Not nearly as good as the Spanish sides in Europa League and Roma and Ajax, hence it will be a fluke nonetheless.
Roma are a top team. Ajax have got lots of talented young players but lack balance. They sold one of their best players Daley Blind and frankly he wouldn't be good enough to get into our reserve CM side. (we also have 3 left backs better than him). So not sure they are that strong.

Playing the way we are, it would be a fluke. As much of a Fluke it is for Manchester United to currently be third in the league with one of the poorest defences I've ever seen.

If we start playing well though, like we did last season we can win it. This is a team that dismantled the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United last season, so it has something about it. The question remains, can we get our players fit and can Martinez reproduce that form.

I agree it is capitalistic. The problem is though, in leagues where they have a winter break the teams just go off and play lucrative and financially rewarding friendly's across the world. The very essence of capitalism.

For all the bluster, United will do well to match Everton's points tally of last season. This is a very good Everton team and we are a lot stronger than the likes of Ajax.
We haven't even got going yet. Breezing through that group stage without getting out of 2nd gear. We might not be playing good football right now but if we can start building a bit of moment in the league, keeping players fit and building some confidence, we will enter that knockout phase on the top of our game.

Its very much game on.
