Im really at a loss here to see what he contributes to our team.

Neiler. You are welcome to disagree and say he's a crappy keeper. But comments like this take you over the edge into just bold ludicrousness. He DOES have good games. He contributed just last week against Swansea. To say what you said above is honest to god ridiculous. In particular since he has saved our asses in some games.

Good god man. He's an Everton player. Even in Bily's worst days there were few comments like this. Although maybe "Dustbin" is up there in ridiculousness.

He's not a crappy keeper. He's just an alright keeper.

It's all very well saying he's crap or whatever, but name some people we could realistically get who is better?

I think you are half right. He was an alright keeper, infact I would say he was a good keeper.

Currently though he is an absolute liability.

I would have loved us to go for Rene Adler but he moved to Hamburg on a free this summer.

I kind of wish we hadn't sold Ruddy, if I'm honest. It's not that I think he's better than Howard now. It's that I think Howard peaked two years ago and is declining and in that situation you want a young keeper ready to take his place, a Fellaini to his Cahill, or a Duffy to his Distin and we don't have one any more.

Not that I can blame either the club or Ruddy for deciding it was for the best given how little chance he had of becoming the number 1 here but, I dunno, I don't look at Howard and see a player I'd want in goal for the next four or five years.

Ah just a blue tinted mate:

Howard Vs Cech - really? Anyhow the keepers i would have over Howard honestly would be.

Arsenal: Schezney/Mannone - Schezney everytime.

Aston Villa: Given - Given - right is not as young and is fading but would have over Howard, Guzan looked good as well, havnt seen enough though
.

Chelsea: Cech - Not a debate tbh - Cech.

Fulham: Schwarzer - Schwarzer everytime - superb keeper evident this season - id have Stockdale over Howard as well
.
Wish we had signed him when we bid for him.

Liverpool: Reina - Reina everytime you big loon
.

Man City: Hart - awesome. Hart wins.

Man United: De Gea/ Lindergaard - More to come i agree, but if Howard was better then either would still be there and Utd would have circa 20mill in their back sky rocket
.

Newcastle: Krul - Actually a bit ace. Krul wins.

Norwich City: Ruddy - Has done really well, a wait and see
. Draw

QPR: Cesar - Never rated the lid but has done better then i thought he would - draw
.

Reading: Federici/McCarthey - Do not rate at all, Howard
.

Southampton: Davis/Gazzinga/Boruc - Davis is gash.
Howard wins.

Sunderland: Mingolet - Awsome keeper, tipped him at the start of the year to be this years Krul, Howards not even on the same planet of preformence.

Spurs: Friedel/Lloris - no idea why they got LLoris. Friedal one of the best in the league for me - superb keeper, have always been impressed with Lloris, see how adjust in the prem. Both a million times better then Howard.

Stoke: Begovic - is a terrific keeper, id be made up if we got him, bags of natural ability and still young - Bego every day
.

Swansea: Vorm - reminds of Howard when he was in his best form, a bit overatted for me - draw
.

West Ham: Jaaskelainen - excellent keeper in his day and form has been superb - goes into the Given, Friedal borrowed time category of wind down - but still doing it. Better then Howard on peak.

West Brom: Foster - Not even a debate - one of the best in the PL. Far better.

Wigan: Al Habsi - Prob one of the most underatted keepers in the PL for me, brilliant keeper, Al Habsi every day - would love us to go for him.

Spot on.

Same goes for this comment.

Why mate? IMO we've got really good players, or at least massive potential, for every position bar in goal.

Talking about getting a good No.2 is a bit daft IMO. Get a better No.1 and let Howard push him.

I love Jelavic. But If we could afford Benzema or David Villa I'd be saying lets get better. I support Everton, not Tim Howard.

True but I guess we can't blame anyone for Ruddy leaving

I actually agree. I would have said right back until Coleman got good (touch wood) but keeper is next I guess.

Literally no idea who we could get though.

Maybe im a tad harsh mate didnt mean to cause offence, to phrase it better i dont think he contributes to the standard we need or grown into. But please dont play hes an Everton player he is beyond critisism card - your better then that - i support Everton not any one individual in the team - cetainly not one who costing the team.

He had a good period from Feb to May - the year we got to the cup final and for me he has been a sliding scale liability since. When you say he had a good game against Swansea, he didnt make any mistakes - im sorry that doesnt constitute a good game, he had a game i expect as a baseline performence from an Everton keeper, he made one or two bread and butter saves i expect an everton goal keeper to make - he was simply doing what he should do for once - but its interesting that so many thought it was performence worthy of mention - really shows what we have come to expect from him.

I know we will never agree on him mate. But he is becomng problamatic - nuts and bolts.

Hopefully it will be a moyes special, someone none of us have ever heard of, who is boss and cost 46p from a team thay plays on the shetland isles.

Not sure we've got the money but if Butland is what everyone says he is paying 7-8m for a lad who could be your No.1 for the next 15 years isn't a terrible idea.

I think that is key there is a big difference in value paying 7/8 mill on a 30 year old winger and 7/8 million on someone who can contribute to the teamfor the next 15 years.

Exactly, still got to have the £7/8m in the first place though.

I don't think people will realise just how poor Howard is until he goes.
