I wish I shared your hope in this guy (and those that see salvation in Vlasic) but so far they haven't shown anything exceptional on the pitch. If they were any good in training I would expect that they would be getting game time but they aren't. Is that because they aren't ready/as good as people think they are/Allerdyce wants to put the worst team on the pitch? Nothing makes sense.Surely Klaasen gets some minutes from here on in, maybe he's less crap than some of the others who currently are.
Lineker 85 / 86?
Lineker that season: yes. Kanchelskis undoubtedly. Rooney- not at that stage. He was very good, very exciting and full of promise, but would he have walked into the top European teams? Not so sure...absolutely. I said he, Kanchelskis and Rooney were certainly worth consideration but I don’t count them because they were only with us for a very short time.
Make sure there is plenty of singing GET OUT OF OUR CLUBOff to this one today. Final away game of season today (for me). Going more out of habit (and to meet up with my son) than a desire to watch us play.
My son is only going because I asked him to meet me. Ordinarily its him who asks me which aways we're doing next etc etc. He's gone quiet on that score since Christmas. Final nail was Burnley away when we were spotted looikng very miserable on MOTD after Burnley's winner!
Allardyce and this brand of football will drive fans away.
Anyway, back on track.... Fancy a 1-1 today, leaving Allardyce content again. If any team wins this game it'll be Huddersfield. They have a massive incentive to get the win that secures their Prem status.
I saw him kick off in his testimonial match @Eggs. Does that count?..absolutely, but I was only talking about the players i’ve seen. I’m old, but i’m not old enough to have seen Dixie Dean play.
