Got home about half an hour ago. We were a bit crap weren't we ?

First half, going forward, we looked half decent, but second half we never really looked like scoring.

Alcaraz had a 'mare and Barry wasn't much better. For all Bobby's talk about philosophy we just had too many passengers today. Jagielka and Baines put a decent shift in for 90 minutes, as did Oviedo when he came on. Can't fault Kone for effort either, though, for obvious reasons, he tired after 60 or 70 minutes. But, when it's not going well, although we need to stick to our possession principles, we need to fight to get the ball back when we lose it, and we're just not doing that.

It's not rocket science, I'm sure Martinez knows this too. Big test for him now, and Kenwright and the board too who need to give him the time he needs.
Have a look at the age of our back three in the 2nd half Jags - Barry - Alcaraz = over 100 years combined!!!!

Time to change things up (which he unfortunately won't, but hey).

Robles (Christ, so long as he's our best option in goal we'll always be leaking goals right, left and centre. A pathetic goalkeeper)
-
Coleman
Jagielka
Stones
Oviedo
-
McCarthy (as a holding midfielder, to sit in front of the defence and literally do nothing more than protect them, get the ball and pass it to an attacking player - no offensive responsibilities whatsoever, he needs to help us defend, and sit deeper when the full backs are attacking)
-
Besic
Barkley (both central midfield, Besic deeper, Barkley attacking in a free role)
-
Kone
Mirallas (right and left wing or vice-versa)
-
Lukaku (being assisted by Kone and Mirallas in attacking)

To line up like this...

That looks good to me

Half the time it looked like we'd adopted a zonal marking policy from open play.

We were busy marking space while the actual Hull players moved into unmarked spaces to get the ball.

The rotters, no need for that is there. I lost track on here of people's idea of the formation during the match.

How bad are we playing been out and I see wiziwig has been closed down.

Sad day for the internet.
lol i wasn't able to watch today's match but now i also see, there is no more my favourite site with quality content...any ideas where to get hd material?

Edit: i got some alternative mirror site http://wiziwig.to/soccer .. gonna to check it tomorrow if I can get there some good links

the team he got no confidence at all playing like they don't no each other things are going to get worse before better the next 5 games are all hard games we need some fresh men in the team before the citeh game, a goalie centre half and a winger the manager needs to stop been stubburn and realize like everyone else what we need to do or we will be in a relegation battle

The team is playing with zero confidence, far too slow and predictable. We need to play with more pace and more imagination.
This is the managers job to sort out, there's little point in blaming individuals football is a team game.

4 of those players you mention were brought to the club by Martinez. What makes you think other players he brings to the club would be any different.
Well McCarthy was good and so was Deulofeu so 2 out of five suggests if he can bring in 8 then 3 should be what we need and the others can hold up goal posts (:

Sometimes the sleeves need rolling up and an incredible amount of energy needs to be put in to grind out a result. If Martinez was going to play a 3 at the back he should have played a defender, Distin in the 3 and not the midfielder Barry. All Hull did was play on Barry's lack of pace and Alcaraz's bumbling indecision with the ball and close him down and we were made to look poor. Why Baines never attempted to jump for the first goal beggared belief. He played better in midfield and should stay there.

And the calamity of the second. A simple punt down the middle and Roble's fixated with staying on the line, only to then come out and go down to his knees for Jela to put it over him. Jesus wept.

Hull to their credit out fought us all over the pitch and deserved the 3 points.

At the moment Barkley is an absolute disgrace with his diving and the sooner he gets booked every time he goes down the better. When diving, he will learn nothing that will make him a better player. Barkley needs to start doing the basics better, pass and move, pass and move 1-2's, before all the showboating in an attempt to walk the ball in.

We badly need the players that can play the pass and move football Martinez wants to play, Ossie and Pienaar for a start and Stones in defence and recruit a few in January.

5 changes today from the Newcastle game and more to come apparently. Now most players aren't performing but chopping and changing to many players won't help.

We need stability!
