What benefit does a concrete statement offer? I'm sure the people who need to know already know.
what benefit is by keeping it secret from the supports gain, the rumours on slow ST sales if true and the badgering of people before the deadline may have stopped, I don't get that if he is going that they can't tell the supporters don't think it's going to alter the attendance at the last home games so why keep it in house as you say?

From memory, I can`t recall a club slating their manager in public, it`s just not done.

There`s so many other ways of doing it :

The drip drip of negativity from the press.

The drip drip of constantly being linked to other managers in the press.

The vote of confidence.

Silence.

Then there`s the behind the scenes stuff, that we`re not privy too.

The statement re parting of the ways, will come at the very end of the season / possibly the game before > Martinez.
Not trying to get in an argument with anyone, I hope he has already been told that he won't be hear next year, but "that's Everton" comment makes me think we could be in for a shock.

I'm sure someone within the club has the figures on season ticket renewals and the levels of demand they see once the ST's go on open sale. A few thousand less on the gate for the remaining games is absolute chicken feed in the grand scale of things and knowing whether Allardyce is going or staying won't alter whether people attend the remaining games of this season - he'll still be manager for those particular games regardless.

And there's a lot to be said for keeping your cards close to your chest. Look at the fume on here and how Everton's ineptness played out when we were looking for Koeman's replacement. The club ended up desperate, and more importantly looking desperate which led to BFS dictating a two year deal and bringing a former RS in as his right-hand man.

I'd prefer the club went and did what they need to do and then announce it when it's done. It's a lot better than saying we plan on doing one thing and then when something goes wrong or someone's circumstances change being forced into an embarrasing public climbdown and letting every agent know that we're once again scrabbling around.

Emery for me over Fonseca as 2nd choice , but would not be totally dissapointed if Fonseca was the man

Emery managed and been more successful in higher standard league La Liga opposed to Portuguese and Ukraine leagues ?

We had record breaking season ticket sales for next season, even fat boy said it

The Koeman saga was played out two months into a season, getting a replacement did restrict us to who was available and what club would release their manager, stating that Sam was leaving mutually at the end of the season I don't think would put us in the same position.
I would expect everyone would put their preferred manager forward as per this part of the forum but would also expect that most would realise that nothing would happen till the season was over.

I would like to see what Alan Irvine and David Moyes could achieve here with a proper budget. Moyes meticulous approach to scouting and preparing the team would give us an advantage over teams of similar size and budget
