We can certainly put an attractive offer on a table mate, but we arent the only 1s, sure we should have better pulling power than some other clubs in the league, but every other team in this league has access to same 150m a year Sky money we do. And its not just about money, its about the long game, say Emery takes the job, I keep using his name, but of course other managers exist!, but say he takes the job and does poorly, his "image" is tarnished, but say he takes another job, for less money, wins a title, wins a cup, does well in the CL, he can then take a step up with his next job and earn the dough.

I dont even consider it pessimism to be honest, just reality.

But but but you’re using a very pessimistic example my friend.
We have deeper pockets than any of the teams below us mate. We can probably outspend Arsenal again if we want. This is a major pulling factor for any manager(finger cross we don’t repeat what we did last summer). We have good financial foundation for any tarnish manager to come in and salvage his reputation and that includes your emery and my Wenger. Maybe conte if he gets sack.
Look around Europe, who are the teams being able to afford 6m wages and considerable competitive in the champions league at the end of the season and without a manager? Arsenal Chelsea Real Madrid? And how many TOP managers will be out of job this summer. I’m sure more jobless than vacancy.

Being honest I think Moshiri came in with the best of intentions but has ultimately made the wrong choices on the type of project for Everton to pursue. I think he had hoped to catch up to the top 6 the quick way by buying proven players for high prices and rapidly increase Evertons level. However it hasn't worked out and now a lot of the purchases are ageing or really need to be moved on. It sort of reminds me of the Tottenham AVB era.

It can be turned around though. If I were an Everton fan I would be hoping for a young coach with an ambition to build a project that focuses on a specific attacking style of play targetting young players with room to grow in the transfer market. It's the best way to get Everton back to the level they should be at.

I think Moshiri came in with all the right intentions. I think he has learnt a hard lesson since the start of this season. I do believe we are in a similar state to Spurs after you sold Bale. Moshiri needs spell out his vision of the club. He then needs to get a very good CEO to implement that like Levy has done at Spurs. The managers position is very important to get right. Whoever comes in need to be hungry and hardworking. He needs to have a vision of how he wants to play and make best use of the players here. I do believe we need a number of new players and a good clear out. But we also have some very good young players like Lookman DCL Bangingme Davies Dowell etc. Its going to be a huge task whoever gets the job.

Agree with all this.

The new manager has to be able to sever ties with some players, bring in key ones, and use the talent left... mainly the youth.

It's a massive job IMO

Its very big. Its a reason I think we need a younger hungry coach.

Have to agree.

If you look at it, ideally these need to be out of the club in the summer -

Stekelenberg
Williams
Martina
Jagielka
Schneiderlin
Besic
Rooney
Niasse
Mirallas

That's 9 players out.

You'll have a core 8 of first team players -
Pickford
Coleman
Walcott
Gana
Tosun
Keane
Siggurdson

2 squad players -
Baines
Bolasie

Then a bunch of promising youth with 1st team experience -
DCL
Davies
Dowell
Pennington
Holgate
Kenny
Lookman

When you look at it like that, it needs a plan, a vision, a style, and commitment to develop it.

McCarthy
Mori

That's why I am now thinking Silva is the guy. He has had a few months to sort out what and who he needs.

Martinez was the same
But as Mason says, they shipped 6 against Liverpool and he knew they would because they were absolutely atrocious defensively BEFORE Silva came in. They were rock bottom, had a run of one win in ten before he was appointed in January, they had sold players and had a crippling injury list which meant he could barely get 11 players out on the pitch, and yet people use relegation as a stick to beat him with as if it’s actually his fault? Unbelievable.

He done a cracking job getting them so close to staying up.

Dear dear dear........have we sunk so low as to look at employing a manager who is not going to progress us one iota, and who will be off at the drop of a hat? Same defensive deficiencies as Martinez....conceeding shed loads to the "top 6" No thanks...

Seems half the lids on here still love el fraudo. What’s the worst home record in our entire history when you can pass it round the back line a bit before launching it aimlessly forward?

I don't personally. I'm more worried about the fact he's only been at 1 club longer than 12 months. And he's managed 5 clubs.
