Rui Faria leaving Man Utd and linked with Arsenal, though surely he won’t get anywhere near that job.

Wonder if Raiola would have any influence on his destination, might expect him to be linked if Brands is confirmed next week.

Be interesting to see if any or all of the rookies Faria, Arteta, and Buvac end up in managerial jobs in the next few weeks. You could also include Vieira in that list.

The climate seems ripe for us to make a bit of a more adventurous/riskier appointment, including Silva/Fonseca in that too. At least we shouldn’t be short of people to consider.

We May be in for an interesting couple of weeks.

Why Enrique is suddenly rated as a top manager? Okay, he won trebke with Barcelona but before this he was sacked from Roma and his best achievement was what? Getting 8th place with Celta Vigo?

But as Mason says, they shipped 6 against Liverpool and he knew they would because they were absolutely atrocious defensively BEFORE Silva came in. They were rock bottom, had a run of one win in ten before he was appointed in January, they had sold players and had a crippling injury list which meant he could barely get 11 players out on the pitch, and yet people use relegation as a stick to beat him with as if it’s actually his fault? Unbelievable.

He done a cracking job getting them so close to staying up.
I agree it's wrong to use the relegation stick on him but the point is we are not in a relegation fight now, so his skill of giving teams a fighting chance is nothing we need.
If we go for Silva we are going into next season hoping to stay up, we are not going into the season hoping for top 6.

Think you answered your own question there. He’s shown that if he has top players he’ll deliver success. It’s like the age old ‘I bet Guardiola wouldn’t do as well as Dyche with Burnley’ yeah but I bet Dyche wouldn’t do as well with City as Guardiola. Horses for courses and Enrique showed he could handle the world’s best players.

Do you enjoy watching Watford on their long run without a win before he was sacked? Three months or so - 11 matches
I'm happy to acknowledge that the players turned on him after Everton's approach, and they subsequently went on a terrible run of form. I do, however, believe that losing a dressing room isn't as damning as it once was; and especially not in a country where the last three title-winning managers have failed to see out the following season.

Edit: I was thinking that Conte had already been sacked there
