I Hate Phil Neville

Always thought he was a poor footballer even at United and one who retained status only because he worked hard at being a good pro, kept his nose clean, kissed the badge etc. I was embarrassed though when Moyes gave him the captaincy of our club and when he was often a liability and the poorest player on the pitch, stubbornly kept him on. I also thought he had far too much to say in the press about what the team needed to do ... when he was often the main culprit for a poor performance. At least Moyes took him with him.

From what I heard, he took the decision that the squad were going to pay their respects by visiting the scene and inspecting the tributes.
