I Hate Phil Neville

It's hard to believe Neville and Hibbert actually got in our team a year ago. I remember being scared whenever they were on the ball.

I saw him score and................he went out and bought blue Christmas lights!!

Very glad he went off with Moyes though.

I never had any time for Neville, there are a lot of newer fans here who, up until this season, genuinely thought United were in a different league to us. If your captain believes it, how do you expect your new fans not to. I hated the bland rice cake when he played for United and I really hated it when he became the face of Everton.

Hate is ridiculous.

Plus you said in your other thread that you hated no-one btw.....

I said I don't "mindlessly" hate anyone. Think Nev provides more than enough reason to justifiably dislike him myself.

I think people have different interpretations of the word hate too really. I don't want the guy dead or anything!

Liked him for the most part, hard worker, reliable and always seemed a decent captain. Had he use a squad player in his latter years or retired earlier I would have probably remembered him fondly.

But was played far too often in his latter years, plus he had an interview with BBC, just after he retired, saying ''Everton fans shouldn't think 'et's just beat Liverpool...'' That showed to me that he didn't really get the club after 8 years. It's not about just beating Liverpool, Phil, fans just want to see us show up and not give sh*thouse performances against them. It was a real shame, that and his 'top 10 is brilliant for Everton' clanger, they really soiled my memory of him.

I don't hate Phil Neville

He took his job seriously. He wasn't coming in for one last pay day. He kept himself in as best shape as he could and played to his fullest ability when picked. Towards the end he just shouldn't have been playing, but that's on Moyes and not him

Certainly don't hate him and we have had worse players here in the last 20years. He wasn't good enough but was an ok full back, never a centre mid. I think he always gave 100% and not his fault he got picked.

I have made my point.

Good interview with our beloved old captain.

"Neville had other offers, "some unbelievable options," he said at the time, "one of which was to stay at Everton." But the pull of United was too strong."

Thank Christ for that. Imagine him being our assistant manager or, dare I even think it, our manager. Pointing from the sidelines getting them to pump it up to Lukaku for 90 minutes.

I have to confess that I don't have feelings either way for him...'meh' in the modern parlance. I do wonder if his relationship with Moyes isn't so tight these days.

Hate is a strong word, he seems like a decent fella. I'd shake his hand (then wipe it on my trousers, don't wanna catch whatever him and Gary have got)
