I think we will stay up..

Conversely if we lose to Newcastle, our following four games are West Ham away, Utd at home, Mordor away Chelsea at home. I can’t see us getting any points out of those four games.
Hopefully Kenwrights on the phone to Moysey asking him to throw the game for us

All those in this relegation struggle have their tough fixtures.

I have to say though that if I were a Leeds fan Ild be nervous that though they have a few points on us we have the games to reel them in. Obvioulsy points on the board are preferable, but mathematically this really is still in Everton's hands...and that goes for the rest of them down there.
where you think a team showing the kind of form we have is going to scrape 3 wins from is the big question, they are dire and have been since the Watford game they actually deserve to be relegated, not only on performance on the pitch but on performance off it, this has been coming for about 5 years, in fact I would argue that at some point in every one of the last 5 seasons we have been the worst team I have seen bar none. I had a look at the championship table last night to see what grounds i will be visiting next season, I have accepted it, once you do that its kind of liberating....try it

Don't know if its apathy or not but I've been saying the same. We just need to grow a set and accept our fate whatever that may be in the end. We've about as much chance of staying up as going down imo. In the meantime just try to enjoy the remaining matches and get behind them it's all we can do.

As the saying goes: form is temporary.

Yes, if we carry this form into the last 12 games we are gone. But to accept we will do that is just fatalism. The feller is here for 6 PL games and we lost 5 of them. If we carry that dire form on over the next 12 games we'd finish on 28 points and fall short of safety. But that's not likely to happen IMO. Look at the form we showed against Brentford then Leeds and then City. They were cracking performances. So they are in our locker. If we do that again three times over the next 12 games then we're going to be safe.

I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but it really all just depends on these players doing what they've been doing so far in the 7 games we've played against PL opposition so far under Lampard (one cup game and six in the league).

It's there for us, and I thnk we can do it. And if we beat Newcastle on Thursday so will everyone else.

Dont despair.

Thank you for the positive vibes.
Monday is always depressing after a defeat, but this day was probably one of the lowest I've felt about Everton in a very long time.
Having said that, there's always a glimmer of hope.
Anything can happen in a game, and we still have a number to play.
We are due some good luck for a change.
A dubious VAR decision that actually goes our way.
A kind wind assisted goal.
A lucky bounce.
An honest ref.
PL season prematurely ending due to nuclear war with Russia, (seems the most likely in the list).
Bottom line, I'm going to keep my hopes up until it is mathematically decided (or the world ends).

My worry is, maybe Leeds and Brentford was exactly that. Some good luck with poor defending from our opponents and crosses hitting our players in favourable positions in front of goal.
We desperately need to create our own luck by being solid and hard to break down. In our position a dull goalless draw is so so much better than all these endless losses

I'd like to think we only need 3 or 4 wins and we have more games to do it than some of the other teams. That said,
we do seem like we are just going through the motions now, awaiting our fait. Hopes were raised against Arsenal, then dashed. And when big Dunc stepped in, and dashed. When Lampard arrived, and dashed. When we beat Brentford and Leeds, we mean business, then dashed. 4 defeats in a row. Can we beat the bar codes? Seems
like we can't beat an egg right now.

Pretty bleak run of games. I do think you can get at United and beat them but would be surprised if we picked up any points in the other 3.

I think it is possible to get at Utd, but not us. Toothless and hopeless. Pogba will have his one world class performance of the season against us.

Honestly I thought there was no chance of us going down before the last couple of games but now I really don’t see us staying up looking at our remaining fixtures

Canny see where the next win is coming from. This team looked done against Wolves

What's most depressing is that we've still got almost a third of our matches left, we're not (quite) in the relegation zone as it stands, with games in hand over all four teams around us and yet on current form relegation just feels inevitable.

I think we're doomed but will not admit to anyone else in my circle.

Thursday under the lights has given some confidence.

Win that and build on it.
