2024/25 Iliman Ndiaye

If we had threat from both wings and a proper player in the middle you can really see him shining in that Pienaar role.

Could be everything Pienaar was but with more power/goal threat.
His best display was against Bournemouth because Tim was continually breaking the lines and getting him running at defenders one on one. Really excited to see what Moyes can do with Tim because he can unlock our entire attack.

I think Doucoure must have paid someone at the club because this is now 2 managers who 1) is playing him in a role you need someone who can, ya know, pass a ball and 2) aren't taking him off in the 55th minute when he loses all ability to kick a football well
Maybe the answer is that managers look at games in a different way to a fan sitting in the stands.

He is a number ten /supoort striker and I hope Moyes sees it before its too late! I certainly hope when Mcneil is back Ndiaye goes there he can cause damage centrally currently he takes people on often in our own half. We put him on the wing because we don't have enough quality its a joke. Then Harrison who is a left winger on the right or Lindstrom who is a ten on the right then wonder why it does not work!

But… Sean said there is no evidence that he can play that position … I mean he can’t even tackle and defend corners like a number 10 should

I love watching actually footballers play football … weird isn’t it ?
Fans of clubs like City have been spoiled rotten the past decade having players an absolute minimum at Ndiaye's level of creativity rinse teams week in, week out. If we could just add one more to the starting XI that would do me. Watching one of our guys run at a defender and have him on the back foot and not knowing what on earth to do - unheard of in recent years! It was so good to see and will hopefully give him a huge amount of confident to do it more and more - we just have to get the ball to him.

For him, the next evolution will be to work on his finishing and his delivery in the final 3rd. He is so good at what he does that we kind of look past his weaknesses but he really needs to improve in those areas. But wow is he good at what he does.
