Injury compensation claims

God I thought I'd be looking at £500 or something but it looks like minor head injuries are like 1.9k-10k. I may well DM you after I get this going @COYBL25 , thanks a lot
Its not possible to value your claim without medical evidence to support your injuries

My guess is you would need a medico legal report from a general practitioner which is £216.00 then you would probably get referred to a Neurologist. From experience a Neurologist report can cost around £2500.00. The Neurologist may be able to give you a prognosis for your head injury or may recommend further investigations i.e. cat scan or mri scan or something.

My understanding is most Neurologists will rate a head injury in accordance with the Glasgow coma scale or the mayo classification system.

If you only have a head injury then the starting point to value your claim would be the 17th edition of the judicial colleague guidelines. Chapter 14 deals with short term injuries up to 3 months. A prognosis for a few days will get you a couple of hundred quid. A prognosis of up to 28 days you would be looking at around £1500.00 and a prognosis of 3 months would be up to £3000.00.

If you suffered other injuries or a psychological disorder as well then that would increase the value of the claim as well.

You should probably go to hospital or visit gp to support your injury claim

If you’re GCS 15 after a head injury you’ll get told to go away by both your GP and the triage nurse at hospital, no chance you’ll get a referral to a neurologist

Thanks, a lot of this is very interesting to know.

I assume these no win no fee places wouldn't pick up cases if they thought it wasn't worthwhile so if they advise against it, I'll just go down the complaint route individually

I did go to triage and then to a GP today and they have put it on my record
