Where's your ******* defense?

Awful mistake by Gareth Barry.

Yeah, but who passed to him just outside the box with two men on him? Johnson! Absolute liability.

EDIT. Sorry, Ferdinand it was. Johnson's still [Poor language removed] at defending though.

Lads, Timmy is stomping all over Ireland at the minute. 2 goals already and it's only half time. He's running the show.

To be honest, I like the realistic approach by Holland under Bert van Marwijk. Why always play a high pressure game, while you can also wait for your opponents to make mistakes. We're perfectly equiped to pounce on them.

Ferdinand has been shocking. Heskey not very mobile. Young, showing a little inexperience at this level. Don't expect Ferdinand to come out for the second half. In fact it's pretty much nailed on.

Hate being right about the England team.

You could say they're not arsed but shows up how flawed some players are against better sides - Glen Johnson, Gareth Barry, Ashley Young, Heskey...squad players IMO.

Dutch have been playing em like a banjo.

England are very skittish at the back. Look at the difference in terms of composure between them and just about every international team when under the cosh. They actually get in each others way. "Top professionals". Fcuk off.:lol:

England have played well apart from two stupid mistakes. Played as well as the Dutch.

I thought the Dutch controlled the game. Minus a five minute spell of strong possession, but it looked as if the Dutch were playing the counter attack.

BUT...I do like an idea of putting Beckham in the middle of the midfield though. He's tucked inside alot and made some great passes.

I think playing him over Lampard to sit in the centre with Barry behind him and Gerrard in front would be pretty tidy.

Well you are talking about a player who has just won the Premier League 3 years in a row. Rio Ferdinand is one of the best defenders in the world. He's having a really bad game.

Upson and Lescott are bigger bottlers and less confortable on the ball so you cant replace him anyway, I agree there.

Trouble with England is the ego's of some of the players that almost make them undroppable.

Very few of the players actually translate club form to the international stage, could be tactics, could be stage fright, could be that they are not good enough at International level.

Who knows? What I do know is that apart from Beckham and Rooney, very few English players actually impress me these days.

I pray for the new generation coming through.

I think Andy Townsend made a good point, England's players are so immobile on the ball. Both centre midfielders drop deep and either pass the ball out to a fullback or back to there own centre backs.

Neither of them look to turn and start things themselves, like Arteta does for or Alonso would do for Liverpool. Control, turn and look for a forward pass.

The same thing in the Champions League final, the massive difference between Xavi and Carrick in the deep lying playmaker role. England still lack a Paul Scholes.
