If you are going for a interview treat it as though you are interviewing them too, You would not want to work for a total pillock would you ?.
First day at a new job- Say to yourself, This time in however many hours I will have done it. Nothing to worry about. It is a compliment to yourself that you have got the job in the first place.

First day of new job today...

Even at this age getting nervous the night before. Ffs. Barely slept last night. :(

Onward and upwards anyway!! ;)

I've got 2 offers and 3 more interviews this week, struggle to decide, some have better pay, others are more family friendly, finding the balance is tricky

good luck, hope it goes well ;)

fortunately it has never left me out of work, but I interview abysmally. I think it is to do with the lack of emoticons in spoken dialogue

Hang in there mate

never really been in this situation where applying but cant get anywhere tbh, been unemployed before but as soon as I was 'serious' about looking for a job I got one.
Whole new experience of demoralisation for me this, cld probs get a job back in engineering but not going back to that as the whole thing is demoralising on a daily basis as you get treated like utter sh1t.

What was that when they were on about immigration last week, saying only those in skilled jobs and said over £26k wages would be the benchmark for 'skilled,' well despite having 5 years training I'd be looking at having to work continental shifts to get 26k as a fitter or cnc machinist, on days a lot less. So if my skills aren't deemed to be worth anything any more then I'm withdrawing them from circulation. before anyone has anything to say about that btw, unless you've worked in that industry then you have no idea of the way you get treated in the workplace. Industrial Dinosaurs that should've long since ceased to exist but can now pick & choose due to engineering industry being run down treating you like a schoolkid each day whilst paying you cack wages.
NO THANKS.

Don't give up my man. Keep them applications going. In the meantime you thought about maybe doing a course in something that interests you? If not, keep active with a hobby to help keep spirits up.

I am still working (self employed) it's just that the phone doesnt ring anywhere near enough e.g. was busy in half term then 2 1/2 weeks the phone went silent for. Can't carry on like that which is why I've been looking for work cos it keeps on doing that for fortnights at a time, dont get enough call outs in the other time for it to average out being worth it.

Keep positive. Good times before you know it.
