He's the best player I've ever seen. Must annoy Ronaldo no end, as any other era and he'd be lauded as a great as well. As it is he's kinda eclipsed by Messi.

He's not there for me, yet. One of the main reasons for me is that he is playing in a ****ing superstar Barcelona side who are the footballing equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters. He's played there all his life, in a team that was, let's face it, built with the success of Ronaldo (R9), Figo and Ronaldinho.

I think scientists should take some of Pele's sperm (obviously they'd have to remove it manually, as he has trouble in that area) and clone him to see if he'd be any good in this age - what with people actually being able to defend and everything.

My guess is he'd be a decent squad player. Maybe as good as your Adebayor's and Berbatov's.

I can briefly remember Zidane and that school of greats but the greatest i have watched so far in my 20 years alive is Messi, me arl fella still thinks Maradona was better but other then highlights of his greatest moments i haven't watched him play so can't judge. Zidane, Henry, Bergkamp, Cronaldo, Ronaldo, Xavi, Messi, Figo and maybe Ronaldihno (for that period anyway) would be the ones in my lifetime which deserve recognition as true greats.

I've got to say Messi is the top dog out of them, although Zissou is my favourite. Judge Messi when his career's over I think; right now it's very speculative.
