Is Sam that bad?

Schneiderlin is non-existent and does nothing
Agreed, the fact that he gets on the pitch at all is bizarre

Get Tosun on and push for a 4th

No need though really. If Tosun was lightning quick it might have made more sense to do so, because Palace would have to commit players forward, but he's not that quick. I'd have put him on myself just tog et some minutes, but, if you wanted a fourth and wanted someone with a bit of pace on, then DCL would have made more sense.

End of the day though, we got three points, and it was fairly comfortable, so, today, Allardyce did the job he's paid for.

oh god. this again

so we have been awful today then? what about Leicester, or Huddersfield at home, Or the RS in the cup, What about Swansea

You telling me we've been terrible in all of those wins

Don't let your dislike of the man get in the way of him vastly improving our performances
We were dreadful first half. The Leicester game should have been over after about 3 minutes and we were lucky to keep the three points come the end, totally unconvincing.

This “points on the board” attitude might be good enough for some people, but it’s not good enough for me.

We beat a team who are a lot lot worse than us. Well done us.

Would you expect the teams he's managed to finish above us?

nobody knows how he will perform at a big club, nows the time to find out
And by the same token, would you expect a really good manager to have got to retirement age without ever managing a side who should be finishing above us? ‘Nobody knows’ is a ridiculous statement. Nobody knows if we’d win the league under me, but you can take an educated guess, same as the chairmen, CEOs and DoFs of every successful club in the country (and Europe one assumes) has made the educated guess that Sam Allardyce is not the man to lead them to glory.

I wanted Tosun to get game time especially at goodison in front of the street end

Tony ye having a mere lid.

The fat man has done what any half competent manager would have done. But this rat has thrown games like Arsenal to ensure his legacy lives on, then people like you can pipe on about how great and marvellous he is while the rest of us die inside.

And we didn’t beg him, the bald rat PE teacher pulled the right strings to ensure Everton Football Club turned into a retirement home for the old boys crew.

I think it’s bed time mert

went in for him and he pulled out as we looked elsewhere, when Watford said no to Silva we went back and offered Sam whatever he wanted, basically begged him to take the job and save us

as for saying how great he is, I haven't, i'm saying he's not as bad as people like you are making out, he's no worse than Martinez/Koeman or Moyes and they all had at least 2 seasons to make there mark on the team

He's a disgraceful coward. If we keep this self-aggrandising, percentage ball merchant we will end up with a team that is stuffed full of mercenary journeymen that will never win anything. When he leaves, if it is any time after the end of this season, we will be relegation candidates due to the squad being stuffed with elderly hoofball merchants on massive wages who will be impossible to shift. He cannot beat the top teams as he is tactically prehistoric and, worse than that, he doesn't give a toss when we get battered by those teams because we can beat Newcastle, Huddersfield and Crystal Palace. We might win the odd 7th place trophy though, so, happy days.

so by that logic we should only appoint a manager who been at a club better than us

Like I said Tony, despite our lack of silverware since 1995, we still demand a certain level (Style, commitment, ambition). Blubber arse can't reach those levels. There are better managers out there than him who would say 'yes' to Everton in a heartbeat.
Problem with this is there should be but can we really trust Everton to get them? Are they really going to want to work with Walsh? The fact that we did go for Silva says a lot about the board at Everton, we have no long term vision

not what I asked was it?

Err you’re forgetting PE Rats influence in that decision.

And he’s a lot worse than them 3; it’s why this is the only big opportunity he’s had in club management....only taken 20 years with his best real ale drinking buddy as DoF as well

No, we could gamble on potential. A fella two years from his state pension who couldn't win a raffle does not represent either a sensible strategic long term plan, nor does it represent a punt on potential. It is what it is, a panicky percentage play that will cost us an arm and leg.
