What control. Sublime.
This mess is going to take ages to sort out, I don’t even know what the solution is. Nobody wants relegation but that’s where we’re heading. At the minute I can’t see this getting any better as we have a mismatched bunch who are un-coachable. Do we scout the championship for decent gritty players who would love the chance of premier league football so will give it their all or do we stick to this shower of shizzle.
The bit about moving off the ball is funny.Andre Gomes was voted the worst player to ever play for Barcelona by their own supporters.
Came, had a good 6 months and reverted to sort.
You can have slow players in your side but you need to aid them with pace, we have none of that.
We don’t move off the ball (haven’t for years either), don’t want the ball and stand off every side.
Exactly. The fact we are relying on DCL to dig us out of this mess is madnessNothings wrong with the players.
Have you not heard? DCL hasn’t played for 3 months, but in that time has morphed into the second coming of Christ / Ronaldo and Lionel Messi combined.
What baffles me is that sides like Brighton and Palace have been able to completely change their style of play in one season with very little additions.
That's means they have unskilled most of their long term players to play with possession.
This isn't a Rafael rant but our current group of players has never been able to play in possession even when it was drilled into them with previous managers, so we can take charge of a game playing supposed lower standing teams.
What's wrong with them? Yes there has been managers that prefer sitting deep as a philosophy but if we play a fulham or Norwich or Crystal Palace for that matter surely we can't sit deep against these types of sides? We allow them to think they are outplaying us? Possession ultimately leads to pressure
The whole point is to switch to being deep against a man city but turning it on against a burnley but our players seem incapable of holding onto the ball? And if we do, it's like watching paint dry
Spot onOne of our biggest issues is none of our players know what their doing with the ball until after they receive it.
Every player goes:
Touch,
Touch again (because the first touch was bad),
Look around,
Touch,
Touch,
Realise nothings on,
Pass backwards.
How are you supposed to break down a team playing like that, hell how are you supposed to keep hold of the damn ball playing like that?
We have zero patterns of play, we don't do any triangles we just get it to the fullbacks and hope they can knock it down the line or pass it back to pickford to hoof it. We really are a pathetic football club. We have had the one owner who doesn't have a clue how football works and now hes managed to get in a new owner who's the only billionaire who doesn't have a clue about football but they both think they do know about football so won't get anyone in to help them.
Agree and a manager who isn't implementing any kind of possession or patterns of play. One of our biggest issues is none of our players know what their doing with the ball until after they receive it.
