This is pretty goddamn bad. But Everton has been pretty crap for 30 years so it's difficult to get too upset.
Relegation? Possibly but I would still go and watch our mighty blues ( although I'd like finch farm to ditch the full English....a lot of our players look fat

Early 80s for me, but that could be an age thing, I was late teens so would travel everywhere and each time wonder why.

It was scary v Wimbledon & Coventry, but not the same 'bad' if you know what I mean?

My fear is, that when we've been in a battle before its been the supporters that have dragged us up, spurring on the likes of Kevin Campbell, but I'm scared the fight has lost a lot of us, we've become riddled with battle fatigue as time after time we've had hopes built up and then dashed. Not just on the pitch either, but throughout the boardroom, the whole DK shambles caused the biggest rift in the support since the banjo pluckers were spawned, it undermined us all as a club, we lost the unity. I've said many times, that will be Kenwright's legacy.

Now, I put part of it down to the opening fixtures, no chance of momentum building from such a fragile and risky squad, and there isn't anything the supporters can build hope on. No Kevin Campbell on the horizon. If the board balls up the next appointment it doesn't bear thinking about. But, the big 'but', is the board themselves need sorting. Kenwright has too much influence. Elstone is the ultimate disaster for our club such is his shambolic tenure, plus others that patronise with mediocrity, all just be cleared out. It's like a virus at the club, and if Moshiri has any savvy he'll clear out the club of all the deadwood. Don't and we'll be in this position and worse for many years.
This group of players is poor and I'm beggining to think poorer than those of the teams that made the two last day escapes.Worrying!

This is close but the very worst one was the year we didn't win till about our 9th league game, think it was at Birmingham with possibly a Simon Davies goal? (Correct me if wrong). We lost to Wigan at home and I remember thinking we were doomed.

Any team that loses 20 games in a season will be flirting with relegation. Any team losing 23 is down without question.

Ok I know it’s scientific but 10 games in and six defeats is relegation form.

I know it’s an obvious statement but the game against Watford is probably the the most important game since, well the last most important game but that’s going to be how things are from now till the end of the season.

Is this the worse Everton ever? On paper clearly not but on the pitch it’s potentially up there or down there as the case may be

It's definitely a nadir of some sort, but I'm not sure how best to characterise it.

90s was worse for fundamental quality. HK MkIII and Walter were forced to play some absolute dross - we're fielding some whoppers at the moment but they're not Brett Angell, John Spencer or Preki.

Mike Walker and Martinez eras were worse for underperformance - a basically decent set of players refusing to play for a managerial charlatan.

Now though, it's beyond words how bad things have got in such a short space of time. Actually makes me think that things cannot be as bad as they appear, and it would be night and day with a proper new manager - because it's scientifically impossible for eleven football players plus 150 million pounds to have gotten so bad in this timeframe, so there must be external factors at work.

No it’s not, but we are in a death spiral towards that point.

It is quite the job for the new manager.

We currently need:

A new manager & backroom staff

Left back
Two Centre Halves
Two wingers
Two Centre Forwards

....... whilst ridding ourselves of some seriously expensive deadwood.

At least in the 90s you felt the team had fight. This lot are feeble. I just can't see anyone stopping this slide to be honest.

That is it in a nutshell. We have quite a lot of quality in some positions, very little in others and no team ethos or pace throughout.

That does mean that there is massive room for improvement for a good manager.
...I think we’ve had worst footballers. I think we’ve had lots worst footballers but i’m not sure we’ve had a worst team.
