Win our next two games, and there's a very good chance we will be in 4th in a week and a halfs time.
76 points to finish 5th ?
Just how strong is that super glue you've rammed up your nose like ?
Its mathematically possible so until its not, its most certainly 'ON'.
None of this 'Oh these have easier fixtures' business. Arsenal and Arsenal fans would have expected to win tonight against Swansea, they never. Football is massively unpredictable. 5th is where i reckon we will finish, but this negativity is astounding. Until its mathematically impossible, i have a small hope that we can finish fourth.
Sunderland away...that will be as slippery as an oil spill covered with lubricating gel covered with extra slippery banana skins

There's a difference between mathematically being in the mix and talking realistically about it! It's not negative to acknowledge we're rank outsiders for 4th - and looking at the run-in sensibly we're even outsiders for 5th. Arsenal and United at home, City away, and Spurs have nothing whatsoever after Liverpool, who I actually expect Spurs to beat.
It's not negative to not dream about minor miracles - it'd be negative if I was dismissing something that was entirely practical.
Remember hearing the exact same thing in December when we hosted Sunderland.
Just think it's premature in the extreme to be talking about 4th. If we beat Arsenal and take the next 9 points on offer, we can start to talk about it as somewhat possible ahead of Palace and United. But even then, realistically we have to be going into the United game with at the very least 9 or 10 points from the 12 on offer before that in the bag to even start this discussion.
Hate to be negative here, but it's not. All tonight does is give us a better chance of 5th, but if you look at the respective run ins, you have to fully expect us to finish 6th. Spurs could and perhaps should win every single game after the Liverpool match as the run in is as good as they could want. We'd need 19 points from the 24 available to secure 5th IMO, and probably 21-22 to have any shot whatsoever at 4th. So we're talking losing only to Man City and not dropping silly points in our 4 remaining away games, when we've only won 1 away game in 2014.
I'm delighted with how the season has gone, but aiming for anything beyond 5th is wishing upon a star at this point.
So lets have a look at the maths.
Spurs are on 56 points. They've played 31 games. That means they have a total of 21 points left to play for.
Tubey says we'll probably need 19 points to get 5th. That means Spurs will get 75 points by his reckoning, because if we get 19 points we'll finish on 76.
That means Spurs will get 20 points from their remaining 21 points available..... despite him saying that they'll probably lose to Liverpool meaning the most they could possibly get is 18 points.
Look at Spurs' run in and you'll see what I mean. I have them and Arsenal finishing on 74 points, give or take 3 points either way to boost one or the other into 4th and the other into 5th/6th depending on our form - and arguably Uniteds.
It could very possibly take 75 points this season to finish 5th. The difference between the top six or seven and the rest of the league has been more pronounced this year than ever before.
