Transfer Rumour Jaden Philogene

Signed back as a PSR trick and then used by Emery who seems to think he has something that he cant unlock.

The kid probably needs a run of games and coaching like Iroegbunam. Have to wonder what they do at Villa.

Villa improved too quickly weirdly - it left there talented youngsters with too big a gap between them and the starters to edge their way into the side.

Different level ofc but look at just how good you have to be to make it from the city academy into their side these days - years ago it was Chelsea that had that issue.

Back in United's period of dominance the top sides didn't have a 25 man squad full of top internationals like is common these days so they could always find a way through.

On top of that the way the financial regulations work now it's the academy which is most suitable to use to comply with PSR also

I'm actually struggling to think of who was the last RW the club signed on a permanent deal

….from the clips I saw he seemed to play mostly from the left but I suppose we can more accurately call him a ‘winger’. Damairi Gray might be your answer, but be it a loan or a permanent, I just hope we finally bring one in that’s remotely effective.

Are you suggesting he has had that at Everton?

Was Deulofeu a loan ? He's the last one I remember being decent.

McGeady wasn't great.
If McGeady could pass a bar, a 2 for 1 offer on a 24 pack of Carling, several kebab houses and a 24hr Maccers drive through like he could pass a ball he’d have been brilliant

Also I think Everton taking a reclamation project is like taking back the girl who left you when you were 19 when she’s 45, has smoked 150000 more B&H golds, has 4 kids and has given half the town chlamydia.

Just out of interest, and I'm probably using one of the best young group of players of the English game as an example here but.....
in the 1994/95 season, Man Utd had what you would call 14 senior professionals over 21(15 if you include Giggs who had played for 2 seasons) on the books (sides of 11 plus 3 subs, 1 had to be a goalkeeper)

That's 4 players to cover injuries and suspensions, of one of the mis Gary Walsh the goalkeeper.

As forward thinking as Fergie was with bringing Beckham, the Nevilles, Scholes, Butt through it was much easier to give these lads a go with the smaller squads (e.g Paul Parker played 2 games all season due to a big injury, opened the pathway for Gary Neville)

The introduction of more and more substitute places available has possibly stunted more players coming through as the cash rich clubs stock there benches with first team ready players and it also keeps these players fairly content as they are involved (whereas if you are player 16/17 in a squad back then, your probably not even likely to travel)
