Transfer Rumour Jadon Philogene

It does not circumnavigate the rules, it is within and they are being smart. Good luck to them. If it was the RS they would get a PL award for exemplary accounting practise.
It’s called a loophole. By the way there was nothing outside the rules when we bought Tim and they bought Lewis but all and sunder still made a song and dance about not acting in the ‘spirit of the game’ and damaging the ‘morale fabric’ of the sport (not my words, the reporting of it) but this is also Villa. Any club that can do things like this which is clearly an imaginative way to get round the regulation, I’m fine with. Just whether it would be reported with prejudice the way our exchange with Villa was.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. If Sheffield United stayed up he’d still be there and Villa would just get a normal transfer fee.

This. It's sensible on both parts as it protects Sheffield Utd from having to carry the burden of his wages and outstanding fee on championship income.

Think PSR has fried everyone's brains into thinking everything is about PSR and PSR only. Villa fans in particular seem to think everything they do now is a genius PSR workaround. Seen some producing all sorts of amortisation / book value calculations to show that selling Philogene for 5m then buying him for 14m is actually a profit. Seeing everything through the prism of PSR seems to distort reality.

With prejudice without doubt!

I suspect EPL have some wording around the spirit of the rules and goodwill etc, if they smell a rat, they will have a mechanism to find it I’m sure.
Agree with the bit about the RS though, two tier application of the rules for most cases.

The EPL, goodwill, sportsmanship, the common good. Yes they will have a mechanism they can apply to about 14 of the teams in the league.

It would be a flawed plan Someone has to want our crap players then if it miraculously happened we'd just end with the same waste of wages we were originally cursed with... it only works with a decent squad 😆
Knowing us, we'd give them a higher wage second time round.

Him and / or his agent just out for cash, or so it seems
His agent seems a bit of a tin hat... the Barcelona rumour was basically him standing in the car park outside their HQ building, posing for his Insta - until he was escorted off site by security. Ivo Comacho....
(As reported in The Upshot)
