He went for under 1 mill didn’t he? If we fancied him then, we’d have gone for him. We’re still far too reactionary.
I genuinely do remember his name being linked to us very tenuously before he went to Lyon, so maybe we did know about him. Only dildo nose will be able to answer why we didn’t go for him then.
I cant help think there's something more to your objections than just the fee.He went for under 1 mill didn’t he? If we fancied him then, we’d have gone for him. We’re still far too reactionary.
Just taken a look at a few of his youtube videos. He looks a prospect. Quick for sure. He reminds me of Branthwaite a bit in that he looks unflustered. He can pick out a long pas. But I think he does look a bit scruffy in terms of his tackling at times. The PL can be unforgiving if you're not clean as a whistle with tackles - and even then on occasion it makes no differences with some officials.
I'd be happy to see him come in and learn the ropes off Tarkowski, but I dont think he could be started this season - although the price being paid suggests he will and that he'll be Tarkowski's CB partner from the off.

It’s all in the positioning for CBs. I need to watch him for a few games at Everton to see if he has it. That innate defensive instinct to be in the right place at the right time so you don’t have to make big recovery runs or last ditch tackles. Branthwaite and Tarkowski both have it. Mina had it. Keane has never had it. Even very good CBs like Distin didn’t have it, fortunately his pace bailed him out of trouble a lot. Godfrey was an example of a player with all the tools but just no positional sense. Some very good Italian CBs have shown how effective you can be at Cb without any pace just through knowing where to position yourself.
Dave supporting a new player, im shook, cant have anything to do with his Irish roots, oh no.Just taken a look at a few of his youtube videos. He looks a prospect. Quick for sure. Probably very very wrong, but have a feeling this one will take another twist tomorrow and he might end up somewhere else.
If he comes in though, it's something for dyche to work with, big unit, somewhat of a late bloomer and needs a lot of work on him, but could be good for us with time and patience.
Branners off to Memechester UnitedDave supporting a new player, im shook, cant have anything to do with his Irish roots, oh no.
Wait, you think Branners is getting dropped????

Yes. And from what I've seen there seems to be a lot of that last ditch effort with O'Brien. It’s all in the positioning for CBs. I need to watch him for a few games at Everton to see if he has it.
