Think the focus should actually be on the recruitment team myself, Dan Purdy and the other scouts, its them that actually go and find the players. None strike me as having very extensive contacts books or know the market especially well.…regardless of whether one or both are endorsing signings, it’s clearly not working.
You perceive dyche as the ultimate arbitrator of talent? Obviously he's partial to Keane being on the pitch along with the fact dyche's established wariness towards players that lack premier league experience have to be factored into his decision making processNot if hes 24 end of season and not as good as Michael 'The Oaf' Keane.

It definitely seems we sign players on 4 and 5 year deals, then they turn up for training and the manager then decides if they`re the type of player that the manager will put in the team and far too often they don`t.….the buck stops at those who bring the players in, they are the ones who are accountable be that Thelwell and/or Dyche. Look no further than them, although some posters think we have a squad of decent quality.
tbf, Keane played because Branthwaite was injured. Since Branthwaite became fit, Kean has played okAt any normal club you’d say O’Brien has been a terrible signing because he’s clearly not good enough to get in the starting lineup ahead of Michael Keane. However, our manager doesn’t think Branthwaite is good enough to start ahead of Michael Keane, so it’s impossible to know how good or bad O’Brien really is!
Ok meaning he's not helping the opposition concede as actively or?tbf, Keane played because Branthwaite was injured. Since Branthwaite became fit, Kean has played ok
I think the fact he played for Lyon who are owned by John Textor, who at the time was heavily involved in takeover talks at the club, was also an absolutely massive factor. It's very early days for O'Brien, I don't think we need to decide whether it was a good or bad signing just yet.I suspect , but obviously don’t know, that O’Brien was a cover signing for Branthwaite. If United came in with a sensible offer for Branthwaite at the last minute Moshiri would have decided to take it,but he wouldn’t sanction paying out decent money until it happened. So it was go out and find a young ,cheapish player who we can develop and sell on at a profit and who an provide cover when needed.
Indeed. If we were a near normal club with a mid table position , not a lot of money to spend but no real PSR issues we’d regard the price we paid, age, background etc as a reasonable gamble on a player we could develop, so we’ll see how he does.I think the fact he played for Lyon who are owned by John Textor, who at the time was heavily involved in takeover talks at the club, was also an absolutely massive factor. Clearly a new manager needs to take a look at him but out of anything you'd expect Dyche to know a decent centre back.
Its mad hes disappeared.

Makes no sense to me simply because Branthwaite is left and Obrien is right sided.
Yes of course centre backs can switch sides but doesnt it seem a bit odd?

Looks like Lyon may need to have a fire sale this January. Theyve sold a prospect for €10mil who apparently was highly rated and expected to be worth double that amount.
