To add to that.

Kone - 20/30 minutes of prem football for everton
McCarthy - 0 minutes of prem football for everton

yet somehow - total dog 5hit the pair of them

Lukaku - 0 minutes of prem football for everton

complete and utter beast

Were all fkin mental

Spot on that Andy. Been some zany stuff on here the past few weeks.

I have (based on no evidence) faith that Martinez will get the best out of him given time. A similar age and price tag to Fellaini when he arrived, who was hardly the finished article and more than a few were convinced he wouldn't make it, was a waste of money etc. That one turned out ok in the end.

Like everything else in life these days, people want everything to be just the way they think it should be and they want it like that right now. When did we all get so self centered and spoiled? I've been amazed at the attitude of many to Kone, Martinez and now McCarthy. How about we wait and see, get behind the manager and the team in the mean time and try our best not to act like a bunch of spoiled kids who haven't got their own way.

No I appreciate that but with the price tag he's come at, rightly or wrongly there will be huge pressure on him from the get go.

He may well come good like Fellaini and eventually move on for nearly double his fee but when we signed Fellaini, Moyes was already established as Everton manager. Martinez will come under intense scrutiny as it's his first transfer window at the club and he's leaned heavily on his former club.

I've maxed my gifs out today lid unfortunately.

How come you can't ludge after a short period though?

I mean, its not like a managers come in, had a bad start and not been able to turn it around

I'm not saying that'll happen now, but the fact remains it DOES happen

So people getting worried after 3 bad games in a row isn't that unreasonable

I said it when Martinez signed and I'll say it again, my mind isn't going to be made up till I see where we are at Christmas. So long as we're 17th or higher, I won't be calling for his head. If we are lower than that, I think it's reasonable to ask questions. I may be alone in that regard, but that's how I feel

It's hard to judge a manager after 3 games. Of course, those 3 games can be assessed individually, but they provide no basis for judging a new manager.

The problem today is 24 hour media and Internet. In the past, it would take huge failure before the fan-base lost patience. Walter is the perfect example of this. If people had broadband back then, he would have been absolutely slaughtered on here, long before he got the boot. Judgement of him and his team was largely confined to conversations between real-life friends. These days, every man and his dog has an opinion they think the world needs to hear, and many of them are clueless. I can guarantee you one thing; Roberto is far more knowledgeable about football than anybody who will ever post on here (as is Moyes) and I did nay even want Bobby as manager.

Agreed on the madness of the early diagnosis by a few of Kone and McCarthy < still to kick a ball in Blue>.

Many of my non Everton supporting mates, radio pundits, former players etc all saying we have done very good business in this transfer window.

Afraid I don't get all the projections of doom and sh*t. I have chronic prostatitis - that's more of a f***ing concern to me than Kone looking blunt. perspective City Arizona. We look very solid at the back. Things at the other end will improve. personally I cannot wait for the Chelsea game.

Sure doing poorly against Stevenage is worse than doing somewhat poorly against Cardiff?

Depends on your version of poor and what your expectations are before the game. Did we do what we set out to achieve etc?

The only real poor thing about Stevenage was we allowed it to go to ET. We battered them, in 1st gear, Kone should have had a hat trick, Deulofeu about 5 assists etc.

Cardiff was never gonna be a romp, they were coming off the back of 3-1 against city and every home game for them is a cup final. We completely controlled the game - apart from about 10 minutes between 60-70 where we let a bit of hoof creep in, the ball was everywhere and the crowd picked up, they had more pressure and a few corners. Shoulda had a pen, shoulda scored anyway, shoulda won.

Were controlling games atm virtually from start to finish. Positive for me is 2 clean sheets. I genuinely didnt know we had it in us under Martinez.

I have expectations for James McCarthy, been watching him closely for about 18 months as we were linked with him a while back. I fully expect McCarthy to be a top player for us for many years and only get better given the quality of the lads he is now playing every day with.

Desperate attempted last paragraph to keep it on topic

Moyes actually could have signed McCarthy for about £1.2M before he joined wigan.

He was in for him at one point and chose to either leave it...or dither and Wigan came in - depending on which version you want to beleive.
