good league. Sevilla says it all. He is probably going to be better than jelavic I suppose.

If he scores goals for a poorer team in a good league then that's a positive sign no mate? So he should do better with better players around him? Levante and Wigan are good examples of that - the Spanish and English top divisions are good quality.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out at a club, we've had our fair share of players like that. I think he'll do ok, not a world beater like but he'll do a good job. Evertonians needs to give him more time than one and a half games though.

Is there a gif for that mate?

from what I've seen of him this season so far, he is always in the right place but its like he is getting too excited in front of goal. Can't see him or jelavic scoring vs chelsea. He might get a game in league cup vs fulham

You've seem him for one full game mate. Let's wait and give him longer than that, I've seen him for a couple of years now and then and he's looked sound enough to me. He can be erratic like, you nailed that. Beckford scored against Chelsea, so did Stracquilarsi in recent seasons for us, Kone is better than them both so is capable of scoring against them.

No I appreciate that but with the price tag he's come at, rightly or wrongly there will be huge pressure on him from the get go.

He may well come good like Fellaini and eventually move on for nearly double his fee but when we signed Fellaini, Moyes was already established as Everton manager. Martinez will come under intense scrutiny as it's his first transfer window at the club and he's leaned heavily on his former club.

I remember watching fellaini when he first come and i wasnt even sure he was a footballer. then all of a sudden about 18 months in, Boom!!!!

I have (based on no evidence) faith that Martinez will get the best out of him given time. A similar age and price tag to Fellaini when he arrived, who was hardly the finished article and more than a few were convinced he wouldn't make it, was a waste of money etc. That one turned out ok in the end.

Like everything else in life these days, people want everything to be just the way they think it should be and they want it like that right now. When did we all get so self centered and spoiled? I've been amazed at the attitude of many to Kone, Martinez and now McCarthy. How about we wait and see, get behind the manager and the team in the mean time and try our best not to act like a bunch of spoiled kids who haven't got their own way.

Great post.

Kone has looked good to me. Can´t for the life of me understand all the hate he´s getting by some people on this forum. i´d be more than happy to start with him next match.

Agreed on the madness of the early diagnosis by a few of Kone and McCarthy < still to kick a ball in Blue>.

Many of my non Everton supporting mates, radio pundits, former players etc all saying we have done very good business in this transfer window.

Afraid I don't get all the projections of doom and sh*t. I have chronic prostatitis - that's more of a f***ing concern to me than Kone looking blunt. perspective City Arizona. We look very solid at the back. Things at the other end will improve. personally I cannot wait for the Chelsea game.
Gumph :D
Seriously though, good luck with that mate.

What?

Really?

Start the next match maybe, but looked good?

The Wigan fans are rubbish and don't deserve a team except for the chairman, They are so bitter about Martinez and want him to fail at Everton, no respect for him winning the F.A cup for the club at all.

Hnmmm... sounds a teeny weeny itsy bitsy bit like some other team's fans that play in blue and recently lost their manager.... Just saying is all!

kone is one of them players who play well for poor teams. Look at him for sevilla... 40 games 1 goal.

The Sevilla ratio is poor, but it's stupid to just bring up the goals scored and number of appearances while ignoring that it was spread over four seasons and he was suffering with injuries etc.

In the season when he played the most for Sevilla he made 900 minutes worth of appearances and scored 2 goals. Jelavic last season went about 12 games without scoring a single time. I think he was on 1 goal in 17 games at one point.

Even with his poor time at Sevilla his overall scoring record is 1 in 3, and Sevilla is the only example of him having a really bad experience at a club.

He's rated very highly by people who will have seen him a lot more than me

Let's wait and see.

I too was at Fellaini's first derby and he looked like a cross between Shaquille O'Neill and Bambi - and it took him ages to even hint at consistency.

Agree with the sense being talked re giving the new boss and the new players a chance.
