You keep saying that, but I don't see many similarities between Koné and Chebes at all tbh.

No nothing wrong with it at all, just a stick to beat him with that's all, £13m championship midfielder, champions league promises. Can all be used as evidence.

id rather the players did the talking on the pitch, which I'm hopeful of.

He's rated very highly by people who will have seen him a lot more than me

Let's wait and see.

Ha. Delighted somebody posted an RTE video. Brady, Giles and Dunphy can get a bit grumpy and stick to some stupid opinions and their knowledge of players outside of the Prem or the big teams can be non existant but at least they are entertaining.

When Giles actually just focuses on whats happening in the game he is close to the best TV analyst I've seen.

Also you can't beat Brady and Dunphy arguing with Bill O'Herlihy mediating and sometimes winding them up.

Once again it is only opinions but most on that forum rate the lad very highly. I think the slight negativity behind the purchase of McCarthy is that it is the 4th player we have signed from a relegated team. Alcaraz seems a sicknote, kone has been awful and Robles in fairness has looked a decent back up keeper. Giles and Brady were two of the best midfielders around and they rate the lad highly. Which brings me to the point, if he was so highly rated why are we the only club that was after him? Naturally I like many blues will wait until I see the lad in action. As I have posted in another thread Barry will give great guidance to him. But at 22 has he got the ability to take games by the scruff of the neck? Does anyone think we would have signed McCarthy if we had bought fernando. As obviously that is the midfielder Martinez wanted first.

Its odd how so many people in the game seem to rate McCarthy highly, these pundits/experts/media types must all be stupid because Everton social media circles are saying otherwise.

As for Martinez so far what i have heard him say/quoted is exactly what i want the Everton manager to be saying, unbeaten in 4, saying the right things, good by Evertons standards transfare window...etc onwards and upwards

that is a fascinating read. many of them seem to believe we have got the better player in McCarthy (over Fellaini). I can't see it to be honest.. Fellaini is fantastic and will be missed. But I can easily envision McCarthy one day being a player we can compare to Fellaini's level of talent. This lids got great potential!

There's a good few on here all claiming that McCarthy is overpriced all quoting the same valuation, all are renowned Bill/board bashers.
If one states it then the others all agree, then do their level best to convince everyone that this is the case.
Had Stoke or Villa signed McCarthy for the same sum, then no doubt they would be asking how we missed out on him.
Sad really sad.
