Right, so in the blue bit, you're criticising my stance on Fellaini, which is backed up by a professional award for his performances, and making out like I'm being ludicrous by pointing that out.

Then, in the red bit, you're discounting a professional award and saying your opinion means more than it - that you "don't give a sh1t" apparently. That in fact your opinion means more than David Moyes and the footballing world at large given that the manager heralded him as good as "anyone in the league" exactly 16 months after months of stunning football in 2009/10 and was linked with a big money move to Chelsea and Man Utd in the January 2010 transfer window.

And you have the gall to say I think I'm the oracle of football?!

Here's where you're a fool - you claim that 18 months is enough time to have a (wrong) opinion on a player. I've had four years to form an opinion on McCarthy and, guess what, you clown (your word, not mine), it's a positive opinion - but hey, that doesn't fit your agenda does it? It suits you more to make up this mythical stance that I've "judged" the kid off the back of 20 minutes because you're dying, absolutely dying to have a pop at me and you just can't get the foothold you need to do so.

You're another one who can join the "get lost" pile.

Brendon rodgers has just been awarded the manager of the month award...so is he a better manager than mourinho?

Your talking complete 5hite lad. You make out like he romped the prem and won the PFA young player of the year award. He didnt and never has. Genuinely couldnt give a 5hit if by default/sympathy/apathy he wins the everton young player of the season award. Who was our squad then? What young players was he actually up against?

Its irrelevant. My point is all about time to judge a player, I used Fellaini as an example of the last player i could remember that split fans so much. If i had to sum Fellaini up in one word during his time at Everton it would be inconsistant.#

You have made a clown of yourself by having concerns about a player who spent less than half and hour on the field and your now trying to back it up by making out youve been watching him since he was ay Hamilton.

Like i said, your talking 5hite.

Me too. Tubeys good at these as well so it never gets old. Fellaini scored 10 in his first season for us.

Indeed.

And andybaker seemingly can't count either - given that McCarthy has had four full Premier League seasons at Wigan.

And he can't read either, seeing as he's still harping on about me "judging" a player based on 20 minutes when I clearly haven't. I could link my actual judgement of McCarthy to him again but why bother, he can't read.

This accurate rep comment sums things up really.

Like ive said, its not about fellaini, its about time to judge a player. Fellaini ill repeat again was an example. And i didnt rate him at everton for longer than 18 months tbh. Even when he left he was a 1 in 4 player. Arguments got nothing to do with him.

So what other players are you currently scouting for everton then? Where all these issues raised in the McCarthy thread before we signed him? The fact hes a bottler? Cant control a game etc etc?

I was just throwing it out there in an attempt to aid the debate And. Not agreeing with either side.

I like Fellaini but he was shaky his first season and utterly awful for the first six months of his second, he had malaria or something and wasn't strong enough. I was one of many screaming for him to be dropped but we persevered with him and he rewarded us with a storming second half to the season including that game vs city where he ran the show.

Distin is another. Sometimes you just need to be patient.

Even Baines had a slow slow start for us.

Oh why not...

[James McCarthy is] a top young player, very able, giving us depth in central midfield in case of the disastrous scenario where Marouane Fellaini leaves for shores anew.

My words, two months ago.

I haven't judged McCarthy on those 20 minutes in any way, shape or form - I judged him on four Premier League seasons at Wigan and rated the lad.

But you won't read this because it doesn't fit what you want to argue.

So what other players are you currently scouting for everton then? Where all these issues raised in the McCarthy thread before we signed him? The fact hes a bottler? Cant control a game etc etc?

I haven't said either of those things.

And it's not about "scouting for Everton" - it's about watching football. You've watched Messi and enjoyed his play without thinking "this is how he'd play for Everton" haven't you?

I probably did read it at the time and agreed with it because we were linked with McCarthy about 18 months ago so ive watched him a bit since.

But i mean when Everton played wigan or seen them on tele once or twice.

isnt this whole thing about this one statement?

However, there were instances of play where he was unimpressive that are worth pointing out - his poor pass selection with the through ball to Mirallas, the shirking of responsibility with the pass to Osman, the poor choice to head a ball he should have taken on the chest, the bottling out of a 50/50 etc. If he had done something impressive, I'd be pointing those out too, but I don't think he did anything particularly "well" when he came on other than fill space.

I think the problem is that no one on here actually thinks anything he done in 20 minutes is actually worth pointing out. Because in the whole aspect of the game, most people realise how hard that game would have been to come into and make any sort of real impact.

Regardless of if youve scouted him for the last 10 years and rate him. That paragraph for me, was pointless.

I totally agree on Fellaini, I thought that (aerial ability aside) he was too slow & cumbersome for the EPL in his first season & a half. Boy, did he make me eat humble pie....

I never understood the abuse Distin got tbh, I'd always rated him as a player & thought he did little wrong in his early games, but was singled out by the boo boys for undeserved abuse on the t'interweb.

Baines lacked confidence, I remember Moyes talking about him being somewhat overawed in his early days at Goodison.

So yeah, 3 great examples.
